 MAxBear,

Orsa has clear elbows and hips, from the Czech rating system.

Shelley, thank you for your offer to fix Orsa's tracking. However, the failure is mine. I have a torn tendon in my ankle which has crippled my foot and it hurts me to walk. So bottom line, I did not spend enough time with her tracking. She will do fine as soon as I spend a little more time with her. Also, she already also received a 96 in Protection, so she is a feisty female and well capable of doing excellent work. Sometimes it is the handler who holds a dog back, and that is true with Orsa and me in this case.

First photo.....sorry, not a great one and unedited because I don't have Photoshop at the moment, but you get the idea. A fine litter and all doing fine.

As for what the pups will be like and what the sire and dam bring: Orsa is a strong SG, perhaps V rated in structure. She is an outstanding worker, with an phenomenal ability to focus. She is ball crazy and loves the fight, for the fight. Yet she is well socialized and loves people and gets along well with other dogs, as all my dogs must.

Dragon, the sire, has about every title available to a Czech dog. He is SG, and dark pigment, but Orsa is better in pigment and structure. So hopefully they will be fine in structure. As far as temperament goes, Dragon too is an outstanding working dog, loves to work, demands to work, focused and yet social and good with other dogs too.

From the two, I expect at least SG structure from most, good hips and elbows, excellent pigment, and outstanding drives that make the GSD what it should be....a dog who demands to work, any work, and yet is safe in society because it is social when properly socialized, disciplined when properly trained, and bonds strongly to its' handler.

Sorry, I am having trouble getting the photo uploaded. I guess I forgot how to do it. Anyone out there know how?

Finally, as for sleep....none yet, and I am fading fast...

Congratulation Hodie.

Fine pair for your breeding and glad to know you've got 8 wonderful pupies to keep you busier than ever.  Best wishes.

PS: Got to "image button" and click on the "upload" page.  From there "browse" through the files were you have saved the pictures.  Remember to re-size the width/ height of the individual pictures (on the left hand side) to maximum 400.  Hope it makes sense.  Good luck.

Poseidon, thank you. I tried what you suggested and I get a message to type the URL after selecting and uploading. I work on a MAC, so perhaps it is slightly different. No matter, I created an ad and it was easy to load the photo there.

Congratulations, Hodie!  That sounds like a terrific litter.  Wish I had room, time and energy for another pup.

Thank you all for the nice comments. Mom and babies doing well today. I have to pry Orsa away to go outside to potty. The only thing she will willingly leave the box for is to eat, and immediately wants to hop back in. This is her first litter. I am always amazed at how strong canine instinct is in terms of mothering, at least in most dogs. This is why, when a female,. for example, will not care for her pups, or worse yet, tries or does eat them, that female should not be bred again. Something is very wrong with a dog who does not go easily into this instinctual behavior regarding whelping. That is not to say a female might not need a little help initially. Orsa was certainly not sure what to do for a few seconds,  but then took over.
