The only difference between that dog in the video and mine is that mine hardly ever pay any attention to me.
"We don't care about your stupid toys and treats Shelley. We know where you are and what you're doing. Why do you think we lean all over you?"

Chicki, yes, a dog would lose points in AKC for bumping or crowding. I have done both (with the same dog in one case), you can still get good focus without letting a dog touch you, just takes time and practice. Mona, the dog in the video, is still a puppy, and I don't know if her owner is interested in AKC obedience.
Shelley - it's interesting, my Ty (Uzi) was much more snooty and independent as a young dog, I find as she ages, she's much more of a mommy's girl and wants to watch me more now...maybe you just need wait until they're 8 or 9!

Hmmmm. Maybe that's it. The ones with the best focus around here are 6 and 8 respectively. LOL

.......this looks great doesn't it...but if you are training a dog in schutzhund work etc.or any type of protection training why would you want this ........except for an ego trip....[.look how my dog adores me ..can't keep his eyes off me.].....[we all know what the dog is really looking for... food..ball....tug,.,.,. whatever was used] .....robots..programed to stare up .. and the judges like it....i don't understand why......it isn't natural......this dog could have gotten its face ripped off, had one of those other dogs, that he totally ignored ,had attacked..or if someone had attacked the handler .....sorry i was looking into your eyes... ...didn't notice..hey you trained me this way....i train my dogs for personal protection..security etc..when they are heeling they are looking left and right, always scanning,,they do look up at me when they want to out of love not because they are programed to....hey we can look into each others eyes when we are chillin with a heineken or a pilsner urquell..yeah i share my brews....... if you know about martial arts..you have karate point tournaments.ie light to no contact=Schutzhund....then theres the UFC.=much contact.=PSA..RING SPORT..MONDIO.etc..then you have someone in an alley swinging a tire iron at your head .... then you had best know how to throw down for real or you are going to get messed up ..... this equals a dog trained for real.. who ..when you are on a walk senses the guy hiding about to jump your ass...because he is watching the surrondings not staring into your face ,'oblivious to whats going on..but its not natural for the dog to do this ..so if thats what you want.. its your call..this reminds me of being at the USA Nationals.. probably in the mid 80's..after the event one of the top winners and others were standing around talking ..one person[not mentioning any names here] said to this top winner .+do you think if i attacked you that your dog would attack me ..of course didn't you see what he did in the attack on the handler..ok walk by me.. i will jump you and act like i'm hitting you ..it happened ....and the dog did nothiing..he actually backed up..the owner was shocked..the guy explained that the dog had been programed to perform only on the schutzhund field during a specific routine..i had been in schutzhund only a few years then....it woke me up.. i started reality training after that.. all types of scenarios..attacks on walks..car jackings..watching tv with my family and having someone bust through the front door,.,.,.etc. its all how you train the dog....a good dog will do whatever you show it..

Jade, whether you like the look or not...it's the protocol for competing in Schutzhund. If your competitive in that field then this is what you would strive for. If your training your dog for a personal protection dog then you would not bother striving for this perfection and glued focus to the handler. Don't forget these guys are not training for any sort of personal protection or security dogs ...they are wanting the highest possible score to compete with in the sport of schutzhund ..and only concern themselves with that.
You seem also to think that it is easy to obtain? If this is so you are very wrong...as, as easy as it looks it is extremely difficult to train a dog to show that amount of focus and intensity at all times. Sounds like you would much prefer the ring sport type of competitions.

wow nice video...isn't the Homosexual trainer at TOPS ..what hsi name Rolando. He certainly has his own training style.. Just kidding...we have a mutual friend (Troy S.) who showed me this video of Rolando. I thought Troy siad Rolando was going for his BH this weekend in Wisconsin. When you see Rolando wish him the best of luck with his BH and much continued success with his female.
