i was going to say to get her off the rice, but you beat me to it. she really doesn't need veggie mush (which can turn into a debate here), so if you really want to give her veggie mush, i would give her as little as possible. and if her ears continue to get 'infected', or if they collect any brown stuff and smell i would get rid of the all the veggie mush completely.
listerine also works for hot spots. you won't really need to shave around the hot spots as long as you can take care of them daily.
but put her on probiotics/digestive enzymes either way (at least for a few weeks)

Vet also told me to give her raw garlic as it has anti bacterial and anti fungus properties. uvw what brand of probiotics/digestive enzymes do you use? The yoghurt i give to her has live cultures aswell.

The only probiotics we get here is GNC Natural Brand Super Digestive Enzymes .

aristianM,i had suggested a probiotic instead of yogurt cause alot of dogs do not tolerate lactose well.If you can find a probiotic that uses say starch as the carrier it might be better for her since we dont know what she is reacting to.I beleive that Natural Factors has one that is not from yeast and good strains.I personally would not give it in yogurt form cause of the current problem but of course it is up to you.Good luck

Oil of Oregano would be good for antiviral, antiparasitic, antifungal and antibacterial home remedy. Not at potant as RX Griseofulvin .. but a 70% concentration of carvacrol naturally. Just a thought. Good luck.

aristianM, she would be fine on yogurt (stonyfield farm organic is a good one), because it's lacto-fermented and has much less lactose than milk. but it's more of a maintenance thing. she would really benefit from a probiotic. i've used digest-all plus, and am now using prozyme (which also contains lactose).
what you don't want to do is get something that uses starch, because white rice is....starch.
oil of oregano is a great anti-everything. i've never used it on dogs, only on humans, so i don't know how much you would give, but it's pretty expensive (and very concentrated so you really only use a few drops).
garlic is great too.
virgin coconut oil is excellent also, i use tropical traditions gold label standard. you can use it in their food, and also topically.
you can check everything out at www.wholisticpaws.com, that's where i get all of my stuff, and they ship. i trust the owner and everything in the store has been checked and trial/tested on people and animals, haha.
