Reported in todays Chicago Sun Times-

"Memo to the Obama family, which is on the lookout for a new White House pup.  A tiny hypoallergeic male Wheaton Terrier/Bouvier mix is being readied for display at a special room donated by Oprah Winfrey at PAWS, an animal rescue center...."

Also Joe Bidden's wife was promised a new dog if they won the election.

they actually wanted a shelter dog, but need to get a hypoallergenic type for their daughter. it's a pity-a gsd would be a great pick except for all that shedding hair, etc., but even a rescue  gsd is out of the question. any dog is a great thing for kids. and geez, on what basis does anyone automatically determine that they'll feed pedigree dog food? maybe you should email the obama website and give them your opinions on a dog's diet. do something constructive instead of bitch bitch bitch about something you know nothing about. good grief, he hasn't even been sworn in and some are sniping about what dog food they MIGHT feed? what a bunch of jackasses.

Some people just like to think they know better.

amen to that....

i wish my husband had promised me a dog if obama won (hurray!); angus wants a little dog - he likes 'em. somebody, and i can't remember who, posted a pic of their brindle chihuahua with their gsd and it was great. i'd love a brindle chi - i'd tell people it was a toy pit!

angusmom- the pedigree thing has to be some kind of joke, that poster has brought it up on other threads, too.  I found the humor in it. *shrug

That is a lovely memo from the Sun-Times! Wouldn't that be just wonderful, to see a rescue in the white house? One more way our future president can inspire others.
