what am currently using to clean both of my kennels is this liquid called , CLEORINA. I don't know if they sell it where you live. but down here in south Florida do. especially in this store called, NAVARRO PHARMACY DISCOUNT. it leaves a decent smell and it kills all bad germs; ticks, all types.

I would get rid of the mats. See no need for them . Concrete is hard on gsd feet but if you have right surface of concrete they shouldnt be that hurt.
They probably dont stay on it that long anyway. Use Odo- ban diluted not as comes out of bottle..SHould never have any smell after using it. Mats are your culprit., I feel.
Clorox every other month and rinse well with no one or no mats near. I dont know what you clean mats with as I would not use them.
I use bottom of old kennels, like Igloo bottoms in their kennels and just move and clean them. Gsd tore all my igloos into pieces so the bottoms serve them as their butt holders now.
