From DR '"Let me tell you a dirty little secret. All clear headed normal dogs don't care who their owner is as long as they get well taken care of and plenty of attention. I can take your (anybody) favorite all time GSD that you have owned for 8 years and within a week he would be MY BOY! IN a few he might not even know you and someone could do the same to my 9 year old as long as they took the time and effort to win over."

Hate to break it to you DR but it is not always true that dogs can rebond. In addition most dogs who manage to make the best of a new situation still remain intensely bonded to their previous owners and respond accordingly. The problem with dogs that are passed from hand to hand by commercial breeders is they are often not given the chance, the time or the right environment to properly bond. I have seen imports totally bonded only to their ball/toy or tug because it was the ONLY constant in their lives. Sad sad dogs.

If you want to learn about the ability to bond talk to the guide dog and service dog schools. These dogs MUST bond a minimum of three times - 1. their puppy raiser family, 2. with the trainer when returned to the kennel for training and 3. with the disabled individual that they will be partnered with. Ask them how many times that 3rd bond can't be made.  Hint - they are called career change dogs.  2nd hint it is more prevalent with GSD than Golden's and Labs. Fidelco which only uses GSD was one of the first ( if not the first) to import DDR dogs to this country long before the wall came down. They experienced a problem with one of their DDR dogs in this area.  They had bred him to most of their bitches because they liked the pups - size, temperament etc and everything was going swimmingly thru the training phase. But his pups were just unable to make that third bond. As a result they basically had to wipe out two years of breeding because it was not a matter of just one or two dogs. Now all these dogs  were very well taken care of and got plenty of attention.  So sorry but you are wrong about your dirty little secret.  As always - it depends on the dog. Please note I am not saying the dogs are not manageable. Many dogs who do not bond can still function in a family setting. They have learned what is expected of them and they comply. But I personally think that for our breed which was and should be bred to work WITH man not just for him that it is a tradegy to see such a dog.

Finally DR you stated " it make me feel good to see people dedicated to the breed that carry on quality breedings." Please refer to the facts above. Also please see http://www.germanshepherds.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=743099  where ghostly talks about the temperament issues he has with Ghost - and yet he still breeds him.  So please tell how do YOU define quality breeding?

DR may  I suggest  http://www.expertlaw.com/library/personal_injury/defamation.html

To save you time here is the important sentence

"The most important defense to an action for defamation is "truth", which is an absolute defense to an action for defamation. "

I suggest you go back up and answer the True/False questions I posted. Case closed.

First thing I said normal clear headed dogs which does not mean an absolute 100% of all dogs. Nit - pickers always want to throw up some exception, I know their are exceptions which is why I phrased my sentence like I did.

Let me ask you this: Why are you attacking Ghost?  What good do you think will come of your attacks?

I think you are just one of several people on this database who have mental issues and look to insult or bellitle someone.  Does this make you feel good?

Go ahead and rant and rave cause we all are seeing you for what your are which is a mean person.

VFKGDS   I'm not going to waste my time debate such a as***** like your self but I will tell you that I give every one of my dogs the best care and workout that can be done and if you want to judge someone than you ought to look in your own back yard and this is the last I will speak to a ass like yourself

VFKGDS

TRUE dogs in question are over eight years old TRUE dogs in question were bred and titled in Slovakia imported and then sold in the US to a knowledgeable kennel to be used in the production of high quality offspring for most of their adult years before being imported to Canada to become the cornerstone to our foundation line of service dogs and then adopted to ghostly's kennel for future retirement. And probably also true as to the number of dogs in ghostly's kennel.  so those are the facts as you state them all true.                    The conclusions you jump to are FALSE

you state  " Note owner not home, I somewhat doubt they ever have had a home"

In your evaluation of the situation you deem 4 owners to be too many for a dog to endure. Most dogs will go thru an

Original Breeder, a Trainer , an Importer and at least 1 Owner unless the owners life changes and then possibly a 2nd owner, In the end their is no connection between the # of people the dogs have been with and the qualtiy of the life for the dogs. the Rambo's, Ghostly & us Canadian owners love and care for our GSD's you assumed what worked well for your critique. sounds good so call it in to question = Right?

then you state "Only people looking to make a buck off of them"

If this statement were true you would have seen the dogs constantly offered for sale by brokers with the price lowered to get the fast buck.

In fact many people wanted these dogs upon the retirement of the kennel vomramhausen the owners choose our small Canadian farm for a reason other than monetary, when it became obvious my son could not relocate for law enforcement training and continue his "work" with Nar & Rena  they were immediately consulted on the final retirement place for the dogs (which again has nothing to do with the price tag). Ghostly was reccomended for very good reasons. I do not own the dogs but I have observed the past 3 owners in constant discussions about the well being of this pair and 1 thing they all have in common is the passion for the working GSD and love of this awesome pair.

you attack ghostly for the # of dogs he owns you do not know the facts like how many people are involved in his  kennel, possible co-owns etc You decide because certain dogs are not certified and titled You judge he is not a good owner based on what info you can find to back up your assumtions ( you may not be jealous but you are most definitely bored)

You state "Shouldn't buyers looking for a "working dog" from great "working" pedigrees know that these dogs are not worked or titled?

Nar and Rena are worked daily in all three phases they perform at optimum level (despite being 8 yrs young) entirely because of the care of the previous and current owners who realized these dogs are happiest when working.

Finally you ask "Why should someone be afraid of the truth unless it makes them look bad? Also why is this petty and insulting?

What is petty and insulting is public slander in an open forum from a know it all who actually does not know the people or the dogs involved in the original post, no one is afraid of the facts you have added your conclusions based on nothing you have made only yourself look bad.
