If he is running for office, simply go to people who are running against him. They can use it to damage his reputation.

It would be wrong (cough cough)  to send the PDB links to the local paper.  It seems that if all injured parties wrote/emailed it would substantiate the evidence as to the "lack of character and decency" of this person.  Can you imagine having someone with his track record as your county commissioner?    I wonder who his opponet is...hmmmm.

looky what I found:

He is a good buddy to Gary Hanrahan so dont hold your breathe that anyone ever does anything to him.

by hodie on 23 July 2008 - 23:07

I could give a rats' behind who he knows or who he is friend with. The fact remains his actions were terrible and he never took responsibility for them, has refused to pay a judgment (*saying he has no money yet he can spend money on his campaign?) cheated people of their money, did not honor contracts, starved dogs (two that I know of and both might have died had their owners not taken them back), killed one, and supposedly "lost" another.

He bullied the young woman who came here for help, had his buddies call me to see what I and others knew, hid evidence, and lied and lied, including here on this database until others came forward and the heat got too much. Then he had his buddies monitor it while he suddenly disappeared to put up fences around property so no one could see the conditions the dogs lived in.

His own dog "died" of what, no one really knows. He is a among the worst examples ever posted here for his neglect/abuse of dogs.  I do not say that lightly. People need to know he has no ethics and no character and it is offensive that he would even consider running for office. He should be running from the law. To read that he actually got votes is sickening. Clearly, the people of Person County don't know what he is about, but that might change.

People like this should not be allowed to own dogs and he should be in jail.

Hodie, Jail would be nothing as it is for most behind bars. They are afforded the best of care etc....although most are overcrowded.Anyone in jail/prison should be doing public service...Hard work!!! Chained to eachother so there is little threat of escape.Maybe then..there wouldn't be so many repeat offenders going a hard road while in jail/prison.This individual should not be allowed to own dogs again..nor train. But as usual..he will not pay the price nor many others out there like him. They will all go into stealth mode..and just repeat underneath someone elses name.I could give a rats ass about his political involvement nor anyone else that hides behind such. The only way to change things is to educate.I am sure there are some reputable trainers for the dog and horse. But of great importance is to be close enough to visit by the owner. If a person is spending thousands on training..They can afford a plane ticket to check up on the "Individual"...and make time to do so.  StinkyK9, The poorest thing that ever happened to the American Quarter Horse is haltering.Weanlings being sold for 100 k up..most kept in stalls. So much just for the owners..not the individual. The breeding of such created a horse that couldn't move physically..one that had no horse sense.Kinda reminds me of the GSD's that are being bred today...for the most part. There is absolutely NO EXCUSE that animals should suffer having a nail driven into a hoof so they can't compete or unfed so they cant..etc.Hodie it would be nice if the offenders could go through exactly what they placed upon the dog.But thats not going to happen..only in my dreams haha.

..."it would be nice if the offenders could go through exactly what they placed upon the dog."

AMEN!!!!!

That should go for ALL offenders.

An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.

Rainhaus...I totally agree.   The same goes for many of the equine breeds.  It's criminal what they do to some of the horses.  I could never be a "halter" trainer, after seeing some of the methods that are used.  You'd be surprised (or not) what goes on behind closed doors.  I couldn't be a part of it.

Not sure what you mean by the nail driven into a hoof so they can't compete (?)  That's a new one to me.

Anyway, Good luck to Kristyn and her dog in hopefully getting some belated justice..

When I get some time one evening I am going to write the newspaper and send them my photo of Tasha and tell them my story.  Thanks for the links Stinky.

I had one of the best, most respected cutting horse trainers in California. My horses were treated like top valued athletes and came home with wonderful working partner attitudes. Now, in a position to need a dog trainer and after reading so many horror stories on PDB, I'm scared to death to let my dog go anywhere without me!! These stories are  heartbreakers!!

by hodie on 24 July 2008 - 18:07

Ranchinglady,

Wisdom suggests that there are jerks and unethical people in all walks of life. There are as well then in the dog world in a variety of arenas. But there are MANY more thankfully who are ethical, who will treat a dog correctly, see that it is fed, and the terms of the contract honored. If you are in CA, there are probably at least a handful of people who are qualified. There are others in the country. If you wish, email me or others here and I am certain we can help you know what to ask and how to select someone to train your dog.

This man is a looser, but not all people are like him.
