my gran always told me... a bad workman always blames his tools.....eh mike

never press too hard just go with the flow ..

always brush in the direction of the hair..

unclog it after each stroke..

make sure the dog is clean and completely dry first..

never us it on a dog that has a dry/brittle coat..

and don't go over the same spot over and over again like i did or you end up with a larger version of a Mexican hairless

ans mind around the fury plumbs or you wont get many pups in the future

lmao.

I love those instructions. Gonna print them out and follow them, being mindful of staying away from the "furry plums"  lol

Got my furminator today and managed to put 3 dogs to sleep!! They loved it. I loved it. If I had more hair I'd love it even more. Amazing. Tks for the instructions Tigermouse.

Furminator n00b here.  Does it remove just the looser, shedding hair, or any and all hair?  Sounds like the latter, since people are saying if you do it too long in one spot you'll have a bald spot.  Is that true?  Does it take out both undercoat and guard hairs?

If you had a dog you want to keep in show coat, is the Furminator ok to use?

I see them in the store and have been tempted, but for the price I guess I want to know exactly what it's gonna do.

Thanks!

it removes the under coat. and a lot of it..lol

you shouldn't go over the same spot as the skin can get sore

i wouldn't use the furminator alot on a show dog but i would use it to get the worst off

used properly its a godsend but get i wrong you will ave a funny looking gsd....lol

they are expensive so i would borrow one to see if you like it first

nope just removes the undercoat don't ask me how it works cause i cant work it out

i have just done my sable girl ,and as an experiment i have gone back through the removed fur ,and there are hardly any guard hairs (30 /40 hairs) but a large grocery bag full of undercoat lol

i love it.
