I just inquired and found out I can get it for $45.00 a 30# bag (TOTW) in Missoula. I am not sure if I should try it, I have used Orijen for about a year now. Blitzen I can get Orijen shipped for $57.99 (the s/h is free anywhere in the US for orders over $50.00) that is the adult formular, the fish is more. Its at www.doggiezbest.com

I just bought a bog of TOTW yesterday and it went up almost $2.00 to $39.90 + 6%. I hate to switch since Blitz seems to be doing so well on it. He's neutered, so is normally a 24/7 shedder and I've seen a big difference in that plus his coat is the best it's ever been. I assume it's the food.
I'm glad I'm only feeding one dog these days . I think it costs as much to feed one dog TOTW as it cost to feed 10 large dogs in the 80's. That corn based stuff again, but my dogs did well on it for some reason.

Blitzen,
I too have wondered why it is that cheap dog food used to keep dogs healthy 20-30 years ago and that is definitely not true today!

Some dogs seem to always be healthy no matter what they eat

My theory is the dogs are already toxic with the amount of crap we pump them full of, vacs, heartworm meds, wormers, flea control, that now with toxic crap being thrown in the food, it's just too much. Dogs are dying early of all sorts of ailments, kidney failure, cancers and such. I haven't had a GSD make it over 8 in 17 yrs of owning them. I'm hoping holistic kibble and RAW will help my dogs live longer.

My first shepherd lived from 1993-2006, and he still looked good at 13 + years. It was an old spine injury that did him in. My second shepherd lived from 1997-2008 at 11 1/2 years she looked like maybe 8 years old. But, she died of an osteo sarcoma deep in her pelvic bone. I had switched both of them from various kibbles to 100% raw in 1999.
About 3-4 years ago I bought these rubbermaid food storage containers that were hard clear plastic like the baby bottles. Now I know that they might not absorb food, even tomato sauce, but they did leach Bisphenol-A into the food. Since I was constantly using them to store raw meat, I always put them in the dishwasher. After all, they were dishwasher safe. That apparently breaks down the surface of the plastic causing it to leach into food at a much higher rate. I will never know if that had anything to do with Phanny getting cancer. Maybe it's just bad luck.
I am hoping that young Pharaoh will have a long healthy life. He is nine months old now.
He really loves his raw meaty bones and grain free soaked TOTW fish kibble.
No more Bisphenol-A lined cans in my house anymore.
