Wow Sitasmom: I DO remember not so long ago, oh last year I believe, didn't YOU have a dog that  almost hung him self after trying to go over the fence, thats right got hit by a car!?????? Oh yeah, I forgot, you have become the "overnight dog whisperer". Why on earth you feel the need to be so "holier than thou" all of the sudden is amazing! I will be sure to be nasty and derogative when you post your ridiculous rubbish like not being able to tell what kind of coat your pup has, or next time Hanny tries to eat the cat, not passing your BH,and your other never ending dramas. Don't you have some "copying and pasting" to do???????????

Smartguy: Please listen to the intelligent posters above such as Hodie,GSDtravels, etc. Tethering is never a good idea, please crate the dogs for your peace of mind and theirs.

I never once said I am a dog breeder.......Never once said I was a great trainer either, I've said just the opposite many times. BTW - Sita is ready for her BH, and so am I, she now looks at my face and heels with happy feet, just waiting for our club's trials this spring. Our sister club is having a trial very soon, but I don't want to chance bringing home anything that could make the puppies sick, so we will keep practicing her at home for the next few weeks......and then back to the club on weekends until this spring when our club has its next trial.....There were no dogfights when Hanny was introduced into our home, all of the dogs run and play together, share toys and eat together without issue.  Hanny no longer chases the cat and an e-collar was not needed, and yes the cat is still alive........ The tethered dog was my abusive ex-husband's dog, after the dog started fence jumping he insisted on tethering it....his logic was "a dog in a kennel couldn't protect us" .....never understood his logic......we had many arguments about it. The 2x4 was his solution to the fence jumping. Once, I worked overtime and bought a kennel, but before I could put it up, he took it back and spent the money on himself......The biter was dumped on us because it bit its previous owner and her children, and it dumped on her because it bit the owner before her too. We took the dog in lacking this knowledge, we paid different trainers thousands to try to modify this behavior, he only got worse as he matured.  the responsible thing would have been to have not taken this dog in the first place.

Thanks Jim and Mking i will and have changed my ways. Im looking into portable kennels on blocks that someone mentioned.

SitasMom- Im sure that you did what you thought was best when you purchased that dog that was aggressive. Im positive you learned a lesson after that. The only difference between you and me is that when you went to those trainers looking for answers they didn't call you an irresponsible person and should never own a dog.

By the way i got another BH today and going for sch1 tomorrow.

My next  advice    FIND A WIFE

You need a help mate......

The kennels at Sams are well worth putting your money into.

I have spend mega thousands on AKC gauged guaranteed kennels  for my back yard to put together with the other  ones from HOME  DEPOT  and LOWES>...they are not for german shepherds...they are for lap dogs//.

My working line dogs dif not stay in   a gauged wire kennel from AKC even ,,,I laughed the first day on the ground...no guide wire on bottom of door and Bear ate the wire right out of the door...Looked up and here he was...I was furious....

My son took rebar for fencing and lines all my bottoms of all fencing on kennels  but my next one is the one from SAMS>>>the price is fair and it is black iodizned steel ..the whole kennel and plenty large....call before you go and see if they have one....Tyler Sams sold the two they had so not one on floor....the are $499.00    why pay 189.00 for a cheaply made cyclone wire cage from anywhere   when you can put money in that and take it with you any where you go...never will break and you can repaint it in 10 years..

The only place you would need to worry is where your male dog lifts his leg on the frame...I would spray the kennel one time with a protective coat of  Clear Coat to preserve it for that reason...

Smartguy...Congrats on the bh.  Job well done.  Hopefully tomorrow there will be a post about your successful day and a new SchH1 title to brag about!

I also was going to recommend a portable kennel (get heavy gauge wire) and Patio blocks.  For extra security when the female comes in heat be sure and top both kennels.  Unfortunately anyone can make mistakes and it is sad when our animals have to pay for them.  Glad your dogs are ok!

Diversified K9=   The so called heavy gauge is no longer heavy gauge/ I looked at all brands..they are very cheaply made by all manufacturers available in a city situation.....AKC says heavy  it is not....I have one of them....sorry sorry made.

The only way you can get a real Heavy gauge like we use to get normally is go to a fence company and ask them to make one..and you will pay thru the nose....the one at Sams is all steel....whole thing  form top to bottom   bars and all...no wire involved....I  have 30 kennels and cages at my place and everyone is rewired,  redone, rewired..reinforced by my son with cattle wire, engine ties, cow clips and you name it.

I will soon one day  sell off as used kennels all I have and invest in two  only two new  black idozonized steel kennels that cannot be torn up by  mouths of monsters.

Holy crap, you're lucky you didn't come home to two dead dogs...at least you learned your lesson with tie-outs...

Tractor Supply has the true heavy gaged wire kennels....I call mine the "Super Max Kennel".....I love it!!
My original kennels were from Lowe's or Home Depot & like others said were very cheaply made & easy to destroy.

Not exactly what I have but close:
