As far as the part about the vet saying the pup would be fine for 5 years.  IMO that is a crock!  I had a vet tell me the same thing 30 years ago.  (The pup ws 6 months when the x-rays were taken.)  My dog did EVERYTHING, SchH, weight pulling, ect...  She NEVER took a "lame" step until she was 10yo.  And you must admit, it isn't unusual for a 10 yo GSD to be a little stiff from time to time even if they are OFA Excellent.

My point is, there is NO way they can know something like that.  The  pup might be "sound" her whole life, or she might  be "off" her whole life.

I have never heard of an eleven week old pup being x-rayed.Wow!! At 11 weeks they should be running and playing with free exercise..developing.Climbing etc and challenging themselves.Someone mentioned about swimming and that is good but it shouldnt be forced.Having a baby pool to begin with will show if the pup has a tuning on water. This would probably be a good way to start.
