i think i am the only person who cant get dogs to eat raw

they just look at me like im stupid

I've been feeding raw for 6 years or so now, and I would never do it any other way now!  I feed almost exclusively meat/bones.  No veggies, grains, or supplements.  Dogs have never been healthier.

Thanks Shandra,

I can only type with one finger so i expect i do make spelling mistakes

As for you folk over there we cannot buy chicken backs or necks

I did start to Feed Fred on Raw after months of finding a Butcher to help out but Chicken Wings have a lot of Fat no Backsor Necks we had to buy prepacked Chicken Legs which humans eat

He did get some Chicken Livers and Hearts Prepacked and sealed, and some Beef Hearts that along with a few Veggies and an egg plus shell once weekly, and the Salmon Oil and Vit E

Fred looked well for a month then the Butcher said all Offal he could not get as the firm who did it said it was not viable Plus the Chicken Legs and the Costs worked out at about  $60 a week just for the one dog,

So i gave it up and went back to Orijen Kibble, with the salmon Oil and Vit E

If we have Chicken Breasts for dinner i cut him off a bit from each before i cook it and he has that as a treat

I could go to the Slaughter House in Belgium right the other sideto where i live so that is not viable as i do not have space for big Freezers

So i hate these posts on Feeding Raw, it makes me feel Bad

The Only outlets over here except for the Slaughter house the other side of Belgium is Butchers and Supermarkets

The Butchers do not want to know when it comes to feeding Dogs and the Supermarkets Pack only for Humans, and most of the meat comes to the Supermarkets PrePacked ready to sell

You can get Chicken Backs if you buy Whole Chickens from the supermarket, but only the rich can do this for Dogs

When you consider the normal weight of a Chicken if you dissect it and eat the breast  yourself and the two legs and give the rest to the Dog it will be an expensive diet to feed and then its not the only meat etc they need

You can buy minced Beef but that is about $12 for about 440 grams

No the outlets over here do not match that where you are if you live in the USA

Now i have wrote this i feel worse than ever, but joking apart it is a real shame it is this way but Belgium is an expensive place to live and i will be honest ,you are restricted as to what you can buy over here, The  price of goods is more expensive than the UK, but the range of goods is not as good as the UK the choice is a great deal less

However i am here and if i cannot afford to pay to feed Raw, then we have to feed Kibble but a decent brand in Orijen

Steve,

I have really good  poultry shears and I buy WHOLE chickens and cut them into parts The neck and gizzards, liver and heart are usually inside the chicken and that goes to my pup.

I cut the white breast meat from the rib cage and that is for me. Puppy gets the cage and the cartilage. It is very economical because I get the boneless white breast meat for myself at the price of a whole chicken per pound. That is a huge savings.

I would never live in Europe if hamburger costs $12 a lb, chicken backs/necks here are 99 cents lb, minced beef is the same or less.

Even if you buy from a store it's never over $4 a lb.     http://www.urbancarnivore.com/uc_online/pages.cfm?ID=25
