Naya's Mom

by Naya's Mom on 22 April 2008 - 14:04

I was contacted by this Nikki AKA MeBigBadBrat about a year ago, she wanted a Golden puppy for breeding/show...I had placed an ad on a website, and was contacted by her. That is my experiance with her, and from what it seems to me, any breed will sufice as long puppies are gained from it...thats my personal opinion on this Nikki's demeanor.

Brat,  I agree with Hodie and yes you do sound young; though nothing wrong with being "young" IF you slow down a bit and take small steps before you make BIG decissions like buying a pregnant bitch and caring for newborn puppies for starters.  NEXT you will have to learn to not be so "trusting" in the dog world or you are gonna get EATEN ALIVE my dear.  Learn to read between the lines when people are trying to sell you a river of dreams.  Does it make sense to you that a "breeder" who owns a quality pregnant bitch ready for championing out would resort to giving the dog to a rescue??

I'm not a breeder and have not even owned GSD's as long as this "retired" old lady you're speaking of and I can tell you right now if I had a situation that warranted me having to place my pregnant "champion" and her puppies it would not be going to a "rescue".  Surely this woman would have established enough contacts and relationships with other breeders ect that would be more than willing to help out in an emergency type situation.  That's just for starters.

Are there breeders that breed for greed??  Absolutely, regardless if they openly admit it or not like Hodie said we're not idiots we know who they are.  BUT the majority that do not breed litter after litter each year are breeding for their own personal interest primarily and secondary is to benefit others wanting quality stock.

To decide to have a litter or not is something one should plan far in advance on when is the right time to do it and why you feel it's the right time.  I'd venture to guess you've made some friends in the AKC arena that would be willing to mentor you?? Best thing to do is know what you have, train with your dog to it's best ability, have fun, enjoy the people you'll meet that will help you and you will know if and when the time is right to take the step in caring for a litter.  Be humble and you will go farther faster.  Asking questions is a good thing but get the answers FIRST before you tell folks on a public forum you are young, new, and want to buy a pregnant bitch to drive 12 hours with along with her puppies....see how that sounds REALLY bad??? lol

Nikki, people on this board are more than willing to help. They just don't like BS and con jobs. Why do I think that "fun site" info re the liver gsd is you? Until 12 hours ago when you changed it, it had a link to this myspace page http://www.myspace.com/oneil_forever    and look at that not only is her name the same as yours but she spells it exactly the same AND uses the name of Mebigbrat on the web AND talks about GSDs and breeding dogs. A really remarkable coincendence isn't it.

Please take to heart what Hodie says to you. The ones to suffer will be the poor animals.  If you are as young as you appear to be(can't tell on the web these days) you've got decades yet to actually get into the breeding side. IF DONE RIGHT - it is NOT a money maker. Most good breeders will tell you that.

Take the time you are so lucky to have. Read as many books, articles as you can - don't just rely on the web. Get the books by Malcolm WIllis if you have plenty of money. They are essential to any good breeder's library. Check out Ivan's DVDs on training and other GSD structure videos. Go to as many shows, trials, herding events as you can and observe the dogs and their structure and their training.  When you can start to id the breeding of a dog (either by type or by kennel strain or by linebreeding) just by looking at them - you are starting to make progress.

Take the dog you have and turn her into everything she can be. She's your ticket to learning. Try herding - it is immense fun. try Rally just to get your feet wet. Obedience you can do in the AKC/UKC/ASCA world or in the schutzhund world you can get a BH and an Obed1,2,3. Try tracking ( not at all stressful on a dog with bad hips).  She should not be pushed aside just because she can't produce puppies for you. She wants to be with you and do things with you. Give her that gift.

MI GSD- Yes, she has said that. I just did not want to see another shepherd go through that.

Naya's Mom- I may have contacted you, looking for a friend of mine. We share the same views. I cannot remember that far back. I am surpraised you do though.

Agar- I understand what you are saying. It took me a while to stop and think of what the lady was saying. After a few minutes, I knew she was lieing. I am a honest person, and try so hard to believe that everyone else is. I give them the benefit of the doubt. I am trying not to though. I re-read my question from above today, and how I worded it sounds very bad. Like you said "eaten alive," I do not really want that to happen, so I am changing my way I write.

VKFGSD- I understand why you all think that is me. I really do, but it is not. I know her though. For a long time, we shared emails and things like that, so she could get back on her feet after her parents problems. I just had her account on my computer and she let me use it. After awhile, I started really liking the name, so with her ok I used it. I didn't ever think, it would led to this. I went to school with her for awhile. We both are sharing her shepherd for the training. We are still not sure about her hips, but we are not planning on breeding her until she has titles...maybe three to four years from now or maybe never. We are both new to the whole titling thing. We will have to try everything you mention. We do plan on getting a CGC soon and hopefully some obedience titles before all to long.

I am sorry if I seemed mean or anything like that. I just really wanted to help others out. I have always wanted to help others to better themselves. I am just sticking to research and titling for now. But if you all do not mind me asking, why do so many people sell their females pregnant or bred? Is it to better their bloodlines? I feel kind of bad for asking that question but it has been bugging me. I do not think I could put all that work into having the breeding take place and just sell my female. I would be too attached.

Again sorry if I am asking the wrong questions or wording them wrong.

Thanks Again- ~Nikki~

What you should be sorry about is lying and a lack of ethical behavior. Your gig is up. You don't even have your story straight. Get a life whatever your name is.

Hodie, I know my story and what has been said & done.

OK, after reading all of this, I need MORE than just a shot of JD!

I'm still not getting where this woman wanted to sell a pregnant bitch, then wanted to sell bitch with pups on ground and then we got to now she wants to give them all to rescue?

I need a shot of JD and a dose of Xanax.  Then I think I'll stare at my new little fish aquarium all night.

MI GSD- LMAO!  Too funny.  Let me know how it works out for ya; hell if it works maybe I'lll try it too.  Sounds like a pretty cheap form of therapy and sure beats shock treatments!
