Poodles are great dogs. I spent 3 hours bathing, brushing, and clipping my black standard 6 month old girl, Fluffy, today. Then I took Fluffy and my gsd girl Spunky for a lovely walk down on the lakewalk. There were lots of people and other dogs down there. Fluffy got a dozen or more  "aw cute" comments, and Spunky got one "oh, a german shepherd". Sometimes I take one dog out for a short walk, and leave the other, just to see the different reactions. Example, walking Spunky around outside, there are 2 girls that scream and run every time they see her. Same two girls, upon seeing me with just Fluffy today, merely looked curiously at her and asked in passing, "Isn't that what they call a poodle?" to which I replied, "Yes, she is a poodle."

I was so proud of my Yasko vom Farbenspiel granddaughter when I got her. Spunky (aka Zippy vom Haus Miller) is the most beautiful gsd in my city, in my opinion. Since we got Fluffy she doesn't get much attention though. People are still asking me about Nenz (lost to bloat on Valentine's Day); it must be strange after seeing me with 2 black and red gsds to see me with a gsd and a poodle. I tell them he died, and Fluffy is my daughter's dog. They nod understandingly. GSDs are my first love, but having a poodle, I must say they can be very sweet, loveable dogs, and the extremely low-shed factor is appealing, though they are very high maintenance.
