I agree with you 100% I have a very drivey dog but he never shows any reaction to the gun either on the Schutzhund field or the Working Trials field.

The dog may act with some aggression, but must remain under control of the handler and must NOT display weak nerves. Aggression vs. nerves are the judge or Koermeister's call.

Dee   Bravo. My thoughts exactly. Personally, I've never known a dog that did not know the difference between whip and gunshots.

The OP's response to the statement  "maybe work on desensitizing your dog to the gun shots"  - "Yes I am sure I can correct her behaviour with training as far as barking at the shot is concerned "  to me points right back to what should be the issue - the inherent stability and reactivity of the dog.   The fact that there should be a need to "correct her behavior" suggests a deficiency in one or the other.

I had a 14 WEEK old puppy out this past weekend for a free run on the grounds of our local sheriff's training facility. They also have a range on the property and there were multiple gunshots so rapid it sounded like automatic weapon fire going on and she was absolutely bombproof.  It's in there - not a matter of desensitivity or training.
