Abhay - I agree that the media has presented a negative light on bully breeds. The media is very responsible for the current trend in mandatory spay/neuter and breed specific legislation. It's a shame they want to highlight the negatives and not the positives that come from owning a bully breed dog.
The folks in the article are involved in dog sports and the husband is a certified decoy. Not an easy task.

Are you kidding me plants in the FRONT yard, and meth? On a side note though recently I was walking one of my decoy's malinois after working some dogs and it had a harness on. My buddy was walking another mali next to me as well. Some older lady driving down the street slows down, rolls her window down and says "you're not fighting those dogs are ya, I got the cops on the phone right now." It made me chuckle she did not care for that as I explained to her that we were just training.

The media has created a monster and that monster is a general public that believes anytime they see ANY equipment to train a dog, other than a flat collar and a leash, that that dog is being trained to fight. Treadmills, bite sleeves and suits, pinch collars, harnasses, aggitation collars, breed of dog, etc. are all seen as objects or attributes of dog fighting. Simply put - this is wrong and it has to be corrected.

This is just one example, of how far the media will go, to feed the Monster they created. It was back in 1989.

I find it sad the people in the article are involved in the dog sport. It does not help the Schutzhund dog image to have participants, and certified decoys (as Gunner GSD said) be arrested for drugs.
