Thank you very much for the kind words Steve and Two Moons.

Steve, I think I will do as you say and join the new Aikido club at my school.

But its true what TWO MOONS says, in a world full of guns and knives I would still feel very vulnerable and I think as Two Moons says it's best to stay away from any situation like this. But basically that means never leaving your house!

The idea of those two yobs who attacked you being flattened on the floor and then the other running away really brings a smile to my face. They got what was coming to them.

What kind of world do we live in when TWO MEN attack a woman and her son with a knife. I wonder how they sleep at night doing what they do. I know I wouldn't be able do. In my opinion it is all about your childhood and what kind of values your parents/role models teach you.

And I hate to think how many times I would have been burgaled if it wasn't for my GSD and Labrador ( He hardly is a Labrador, doesn't fetch, not very social at all to other dogs and barks as much as my GSD)

Of course, the police were no help, I don't mean to be rude but the policeman are probably ther brothers anyway.

O well. Thanks again for the kind words, you have made me feel a lot better.

Henry,

When all else fails there is safety in numbers, here sometimes neighbors help watch each others homes and what goes on in the neighborhood.    Maybe your neighbors could see the benifits of this and start a neighborhood watch group like they do here sometimes.      Barking dogs are effective enough that here people buy motion sensitive recorders that play recorded dogs barking.   Crazy huh?   But true.    Also there are non leathal products for self defense that a woman can use.   Pepper spray is popular, stun guns, and piercing loud warning devices.   My favorite is a retracting baton like the military use.     My grandmother used to keep a kitchen fork in her purse.   And of course a big dog well trained can discourage some people.

No one should be afraid to leave they're house.  These men were cowards to target a woman, easy prey.  I believe no bad deed goes unpunished, they will get thiers one day, believe it.

I hope things improve.

Brent.

Bad people will eventually recieve what is coming to them.  What goes around comes around in my book it's karma.  Have you not found anybody with some experience training sport or protection dogs near you.  It would be a great help if you could find someone with a little experience to help you with this hobby.
