Tigermouse.  No problem.

I have had 3 longcoats myself and NONE of them had the same coat.  All definately "coats" but  none were the same length.

Here is one of my black coated males.  He was 5 months old in this picture.

Here is a female I had.  She was 2yo in the picture.

goran is gorgeous! look at those legs! every coated gsd i've seen is different. i just tell people angus has a wonky coat and that he is a mutant. it's actually easier than trying to explain a long coat and all its peculiarities.

i  can't get over goran's legs! i had a big ole mutt with legs like that - tree trunks! he is wonderful. i don't think there really is a definitive answer for "what is a long coat". there are just SO many permutations (geez, i hope i used that word right - too many glasses of wine). i do enjoy seeing all the different long coats. one of the pics of goran makes me think of angus, so he must be a good looking dog....

Capt Mike,

Many thanks for posting the Pic's of Goran very kind.

Looking at the other Beautiful Dogs shown on here it looks like Goran is a Long Coat,

Not that it matters to me, He is a Intelligent little  Lad,

He already walks to heel, Or Voot as we say here, He Downs and stays down on command, and Walks to Voot ,'Heel' off leash most of the time but i do not push him too far just short goes in any excersise, as he is still a  young pup and is treated like one, Now he is 8 months old

Anyone interrested take a look at his Father on the Pedigree Data Base, to will see Goran looks much like his Dad

'Zasko vom Prielberg'  SchH3 Kor Class 1, at this moment this Dog is in the USA

Steve:  Goran DOES look like his sire and he has a smokin' hot pedigree - I bet he is fun to train and will be a hot tomale on the schutzhund field as he matures.

Hello Sueincc

You can see  videos of his Father working on the Field with his owner Rinus Bastiaasen

There are Videos of him Tracking, Obedinace and Protection. If Goran turns out nearly as good i will be very Happy

The Website is www.daelenberghutte.be

Go onto Our Dogsm You will see Zasko click on it and the Videos will come up

He is working Zasko on our Training Field As Rinus helps us with our Two Dogs

Thanks Steve, I really enjoyed watching those videos.  For me, schutzhund is really fun when you are working with a dog that has a lot of drive and is bred to do this work.   I am sure you know exactly what I am talking about!  As far as him being a coat, I don't really know, especially since Goran is only 8 months old and his father has a very heavy (but correct) coat.  If he were my dog I wouldn't care about the coat either!

I too am not excatly sure if he is a Long Coat or not, No one replyed as to what they thought he was. He does have an undercoat of sorts because i had a job last night dabbing him with frontline i could not see the skin

He does seem to have a fair amount of Hair in and around the Ears if that is anything to go by.

Rinus his breeder and our trainer is in the USA at the moment somewhere in Califonia Judging a competition and helping some people and there dogs prepare  for the Nationals, but i do not know what they are, I know he will be going back over again to help them later on before the summer i think twice more

I could do with him over here but i must not be greedy ,He will be back here next thursday

I currently have 3 LC, Goran is a LC.  There is way too much ear fluff to be anything else.

Thanks Guys, I thought so, but no matter what  coat he has he is a little beauty

He was the only Pup in the Litter to look like his Dad, all the others took after the mother, perhaps that is why he was the last one to go from the litter, but i pleased with the way he is turning out

Except for today again Just come back from Training at the Club, The ground is terrible soggy water soaked grass

Plus it rained all the Time,  'Fred' looked like a Superstar, and Goran looked like a over worked Rug  that had been pulled through a hedge backwards, by the time we had finished, that is the only problem of these type of coated Dogs

But i would not  swap him

Steve
