I have a litter of 8 week old puppies and they have very soft stools right now too. I have treated with Panacur, and have the Ponazuril to treat for Coccidia. The pups are totally healthy other then the soft stools, eating and drinking normal, gaining and growing as they should. With the Ponazuril I was told to mix the tube with 21ml's of liquid. Is this how others have used it to treat with? And did you treat for 3 days, this is what I was told to do, or 10 days like with Albon? And I was told 1ml per 10#. Thanks!

What is your feeding regimen? Most of the time a healthy puppy can become unhealthy because of over feeding and/ or feeding the wrong feed. Over feeding causes loose stools which will then becomes diarrhea and the cycle is on. The owner assumes parasites, the vet prescribes antibiotics, and a simple problem is compounded. This cycle can go on for months because the over feeding makes the pup so sick he looses appetite and his health goes to hell in a hand basket. Don't feed the pup more just because he inhales his meal and hunts for more.

You know, I was thinking that maybe i am feeding her too much.  She is always so hungry that perhaps you are right. Today I fed her less and she does seem better.  i also gave her back her Taste of the Wild Lamb and sweet potato food and nothing else.  I leashed her everytime she went out so she wouldn't snack on the outside world and I bought some plain no fat yogurt and gave her two tablespoons this afternoon.  tonight she is sleeping soundly, no farting or begging to go out.  No treats and no chew bones, however, the poor girl loves her chewies. it would be like taking potato chips away from me for life.  But she is doing better.

That is fantastic news. Some times the simplest solution is overlooked. As far as chew things: the hardest nylabone, also, I don't know where you are, but google "Blue Ridge Beef", they have frozen beef processed for dog's, so not leftovers. They have green tripe which the best for dog's gut, ground meat, etc. All to be fed RAW and they have the BIG Knuckle Bones (meaty too!) that should give you girl the most satisfaction of all.

Feed less, and less frequently. Add some yogurt or probiotics. Get her off meds. And find a vet that will put the dog through testing instead of guessing before putting her on strong meds.
