Sunsilver

PS...I think he's very handsome, despite the long, drippy tongue!

Thanks for photo advice.  Trooper continues to revive and is 90+% himself again.  I'm never going to let my dog be led off  where I can't see him.  He has multiple functions:  mobility - he assists me walking, esp. up hills and listens to my respiration. He pulls just right.  Actually more stabilizing than a cane.  He carries nitro on collar and will dangle it by my hand if I should have a heart event.  He sleeps in our room and will wake me if I should forget to breathe.  He knows my health and moods and if he's not worried I know I don't have to either.  This is very liberating.  I know if I should kick off my wife would not be left alone and this comforts me more than insurance ever could.  He seems to be a magnet for attractive women - not that I would take advantage of this but beauty is always a joy to behold.  He finds and returns thown sticks or snowballs tirelessly and is a masterful diver and swims rapidly in pursuit of anything thrown into the lake.  He brings joy and laughter and doesn't seem to tire of my talking.  He's mastered the art of discretionary obedience.  no bleeding...  I could go on...  I'm blessed with a good shepherd and my wife and I hope to locate a 7wk old puppy to understudy him - he's very good with small dogs and is very dignified. I could go on but fear I would fill the ether to overflowing with my praise...

Trooper sounds like the real deal, feeper, the reason this breed came to be in the first place.  I hope he continues to do well for many years to come and I'm wishing the same for you.

John,

He sounds WONDERFUL!  I know he is your heart and soul as Falk and Yena were mine!  I am glad to hear that he is almost 100%!  It does take some time to recover from sedation and all dogs recover at a different rate.  Prayers that the biopsies will be something that isn't such a big deal, maybe just polyps or something!

Thank you for the updates!

Trooper "I don't know him..."

by feeper on 26 February 2008 - 15:02

The (constrained - Yea!) picture above should have been captioned:  "I don't know him..."

Picture taken early Sun. AM before a successful trial run down the hill past our home with the only car that happened by...  The icy street inspired me to disinter the 60 yr old sled from the garage.  Trooper was pleased  when the outcome was non fatal.

Cheers, John

Thanks for the update on Trooper.  Glad the results were just a small medical problem and not a major one.  Give that big sweet dog a hug.
