Because they havent volunteered for the military yet - did you forget this is an ALL VOLUNTEER military? As in we all signed the paperwork knowing what we were getting into? There isnt a draft - and thus he cannot force his daughters to do anything they dont want to do - and I frankly find it disgusting that you would think he would. ~Cate

Cate, That's nice and all and yes I already know that joining the military is all done by volunteers. You still haven't answered my questions. Why do you find it digesting for me to suggest that Bush ships his daughters to Iraq? If a president starts a war, his sons/daughters should go to war too, among the president himself. I personally don't like John Kerry but at least he been on the battlefield. What do you think about whats written here http://www.thewe.cc/weplanet/news/armed_force/us_soldiers_committing_suicide_vietnam_iraq.html#this_is_real and how US Veterans who was in Iraq are at high risk of committing suicide because of PTSD? Why would a soldier take his own life after coming home from war?

No they shouldnt unless they volunteers themselves. And quite frankly...the military wouldnt want them - because if they went to war they would pose a terrible secruity risk. Did you think about the fact that maybe they would be targeted, much moreso than anyone else? No thanks - I wouldnt want to be a member of the security forces guarding them. And still - why should we make exceptions to draft his own daughters. Anyway...its a moot point...I'm going to go overseas and I dont need Bush's daughters over there....and like I said....I doubt that that has crossed the mind of any other soldier...rather that is something brought up by those that dont serve in the military that want to make excuses for us that we dont want. Bush was in the Natty Guard as well - and before you knock the guard - nearly every guard unit in my state is deployed right now. Brittany - I went through PTSD without even having been overseas - had nothing to do with the military and everything to do with my roomate, who has never been overseas, killing herself in my apartment.. PTSD happens in people that arent in the military. Different people react differently to it - but the key part is to seek help. ~Cate

Brit, VA hosptitals are the closest thing to socialized medicine. Do you know what socialized med is? The VA's are run by the govt', staffed by the gov't and under total gov't control. That is socialized medicine, and we have a model of it right now in our country and those are the VA hospitals and clinics. Before you start getting all flippy with everyone you should know what your'e talking about. Er's are often times clogged with people aleady on State ins. programs, that's where they go. One of the reasons our costs are so high. They get sore leg and run to the ER for a couple hundred dollar visit and some vicodin. I've been there I know who's coming in and for what reasons. and those on 10 different kinds of meds usually did chose to be unhealthy. Sorry if that is unpopular with you, but putting self responsibility back onto someone usually results in a defensive mechanism. Sorry, but chronic disease like heart disease (high bp, high cholesterol, etc) most cases of diabetes etc are caused by years and years of crappy lifestyle choices. You have to try real hard and be real committed to get a chronic disease. They don't happen overnight, and overwhelmingly are caused by lifestyle choices. Those are the facts. If you chose to believe nothing is your fault, then you've comletely bought into big pharma's plan to convince you that you are helpless, nothing is your fault or responsibility and they can easily replace that responsibility with a drug, Eat 'em up, they're good for you, really. Just don't expect me to help you pay for any of them. I'll stick with my personal account rather than fund your bad habits. and yes healthy people can get sick, you got me. But there is absolutely NO reason you should health ins for a common cold and a 100 degree temp. That is all 100% completely normal. Your body is great at regulating temp, and getting it to a temp necessary to stimulate WBC production and activity, kill bacT and viruses and increase the activity of your immune system. Unless something is terribly wrong, you shouldn't need anything more than to stay hydrated and get some rest. Shouldn't cost the health care system a single dollar. anyway, somehow I feel none of this will get thru to you.

Cate, I just got done watching a you tube video that had me in tears. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1YRnqG4YlBE Wouldn't it be nice for all children's who's has a parent serving in Iraq to have a present like that? Instead of coming home in one of these http://wearewatchingyou.us/wp-content/uploads/Image/coffin3-740262.jpg ? You haven't answered my questions yet... I'm going to copy and paste my questions, maybe you didn't see them? if you can please tell me whats the truth behind this Iraq war anyhow? Wheres the WMD's that our government told us? Why haven't we killed Bin laden, the guy who was responsible for 9-11 attacks? We manage to capture and help kill Saddam but whats the “mission accomplish?” http://www.zipcon.net/stdale/mission_accomplished.jpg We had no business invading Iraq. Do you honestly believe that the people in Iraq are happy? What about that Iraqi boy who lost not his 2 legs but 2 of his arms due to this war? I'm sure he just loves us for what we have done to him. What exactly happen to those billions of dollars of weapons that went missing in Iraq recently?

zdog - I agree with your last statement. As far as the dog going home with the family - I have mixed feelings about that...on one hand the dog could still be serving...on the other...its a small piece of their son that they just lost. Sorry for taking it off topic. ~Cate

I just hope they are prepared to give the dog a good home, and are well versed as to how to care for this dog.

by GoldenElk on 15 December 2007 - 22:12

...Tell Chaney to donate a couple hundred grand of his ill gotten oil money to train a boat load of new dogs, that's nothing but Monopoly money for that prick. Jesus Christ, can't the family have the last living remnant of their son??? They've already made the ultimate sacrifice...
