Hi again,

What do you think a fair price for 8 weeks puppy from Slovakia or Czech should be?
The range being asked is incredible and makes you wonder.
USD 350 upto 1250
Euro 270 upto 800
My God what is wrong!!!

If I buy a puppy at USD 1250 and add up shipment it shall cost me around USD 2250. Is this fair?!

by SitasMom on 27 September 2009 - 18:09

you can find puppies in the US from Czech / Slovak lines for less then $2250 delivered.......Maybe, some are close enough that you'll you will be able to see in person before purchasing......

I am in the Middle East (Jordan).

Are there no Czech line breeders in your neck of the woods?
Can you fly over and find one and bring it in as a pet less expensively then having one imported?
Shipping may cost you an arm and a leg.

BTW.........
"cost and arm and a leg"...
this saying came from the Victorian times
painters based their price of painting a portrait
by how much was included.......
face was one price
face and arm was a bit more
and an arm and a leg was most expensive......

SitasMom,

Yes could be less in cost, really and I may enjoy the travel and visit. What you said about the portrait is amazingly true in our present days.

Being one who just loves adventure, I'd have to look into booking a flight during my next holiday and visiting a few different kennels........

Eurosport
La cage aux folles
Ipjo?? the counter part to AlpineK9

Maybe a few others.............

What a grand adventure that would be, and so many beautiful dogs and puppies to see......only problem is that you might have a problem picking only one puppy.

Yes when I got my first dog Georginia the breeder sent me pictures of three female puppies and all were so lovely, I couldn't choose only one, I thought of taking two from her my wife did not agree and in the end my daughte (6 years then) chose Georginia.

Till today I wish I got two not one and wonder what the other one is like right now! Sometimes I have day dreams about beautiful puppies and dogs I have (in the dream) some DDR some Czech some American Some Jerman. Sometimes I wish I were rich and have more nice puppies and helpers to take care of them. My wife sometimes calls me GSD dreamer.

by SitasMom on 27 September 2009 - 22:09

I think we are all GSD dreamers to one extent or another........

Training to train two puppies at the same time is very difficult. You would have to keep them seperate much of the time so that they would bond to you and to each other. Bonding is very important.

Smart to ask your Daughter to decide............somethime they make the best choices......with puppies anyway.

Enjoy your puppy shopping.

for that price I will travel myself to Czech rep to see the the puppies and parents then bring her with myself back .
