mewoodjr thanks for the recommendation. Hex looks like a nice male. I looked at the pedigree. But I dont want a male with Grim in the pedigree. My female is already line bred on Grim.
Any other recommendations for nice Czech males. I want them to be titled and breed surveyed. NO Grim.
I still havent seen any DDR males!

Randy Tyson-Witmer in California has a nice Czech stud dog, Elton z Pohranicni straze. Elton is a full brother to Mambo z PS who has been used as a stud for Jinopo in the Czech Republic. Elton is SchH3, KKL1 and V in structure. He should produce well but you would want to contact Randy to know more. She is breeding him a fair amount and should have a good idea what to expect from his progeny. http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/466042.html
She also has another Czech stud dog that has a really nice pedigree, Eno zo Štiavnických hôr. On a quick search I did not find him in the database but his pedigree is on Randy's site. http://www.witmertysonimports.com/Studdogs_1101.htm
Good luck in your search!

Xeus - Yes Al has a 2 year old but that is not a Hex pup. That is a Gonzo and Gita pup named Armor. You are right though... he has a huge neck! Al has to take links out when using Armor's prong on Hex.

Sorry Jyl he has Grim too... I personally like grim in the lines... but I see now that you already have a full pedigree of grim.
As far as DDR... I always liked the looks of Steve Lino's stud dogs. They throw some really good looking pups. I haven't seen them personally but I like the pedigree and looks. http://www.vomlinmarc.com/

Jyl, Two questions if I may. 1. What are your specific aims for this breeding? What trait or traits in your bitch do you wish to improve on or soldify in your breeding program? This may help us you give you more specific recommendations.
2. Why the insistence on a "pure" Czech male? When you look at your Czech female's pedigree she is fairly typical of most Czech pedigrees I have seen - they consist of a mixture of WG working lines, DDR lines(many also WG influenced) and GASP WG show lines ( tho usually the old ones before real bifurcation occurred).
I noticed that you are in No California. May I ask where? Some dogs in your area you might want to consider if they fit in w/ you answers to #1 are
2007 World Team Member SG Ello von Herretts Fire Sch III AD KKl2 OFA Excellent http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/474457.html No Grim. This dog has great heart and is very powerful in the protection phase. He also has stunning obedience that comes from his great willingness to please- a quality not often seen these days. I did not know his dam but am told she was one tough bitch (but not the prettiest girl on the block). While I'm still learning CZ pedigrees it appears that she comes from some of the "older" CZ dogs. Ello is owned by Deleta Jones ( a sweetheart of a person. the GSd world needs more competitors like her) who is located in Gilroy.
Randy Tyson is currently offering several "Czech" dogs at stud. Two here (Elton, Eno - Grim free I think) and one in Germany I believe. Randy's been in the shepherd world for along time and knows her dogs. She produces working k9s and sport dogs and some hi-lines. She also has some great Czech bitches in her breeding program. Randy is in the bay area, a member of the Menlo Park club and often there on Sunday afternoons for training. If nothing else might be worth getting her opinion on a way to go with your bitch. http://www.randytyson.com/HausTysonGermanShepherdDog.htm
John Riboni's Brix is also Czech. John is in Placerville I think. Don't have the link to Brix's pedigree but just search John's name and gsd on the web and it will come up. I think the version on this DB has some problems in accuracy at the backend. I believe John has done well with Brix and he seems to structurally very nice.
Finally there is http://kreativekennels.com/Our_Stud_Dogs.htm . I know nothing about this kennel other than from it's website it appears to be very very commercial, breeds their bitches too often for my taste and it outrageous on their prices. I'm sure that there are other Czech dogs in the state if you start asking around at clubs and trials.

Those hips look great on Andy. He deserves a Good. Why don't you just submit to the SV through USA? OFA is too subjective. Any way OFA Fair is a normal hip. His pedigree is strong. I would not hesitate to breed to him. It is much better to breed to a dog OFA Fair with a good HD background over a OFA EX with a so so background.

Thanks B.Andersen. Yes I plan on submitting them for an "a" Stamp.

The main thing that I would like to improve on my female is that she seems to be a little handler soft. So I am looking for a male that isnt to soft. By all means I dont want a handler aggressive male! My females conformation is very nice. She moves freely in both front and rear. She has nice bone and nice dark pigment. For her age she seems to have a nice balance of prey and defense. She could go more defense than prey very fast. So I am working her more in prey now since she is young. I will put that edge on her a little later when she is a little older and I am getting ready to title her.
As for my breeding program. I would like to get more into the pure DDR and Czech dogs. I know that my Czech female, Xena, is a combination of Czech, DDR and west german. She is mostly Czech though. Since I am more interested in the Czech and DDR dogs, I would like to breed her to a male that is mostly if not pure Czech. This is just my preference. This is also why I am doing to research now. I dont plan on breeding my female until the end of 2008.
I also have a pure DDR female that I would like to title next year. I may breed her the end of next year. I am not sure yet.

I have found a nice DDR male named Lux vom Kameruner Eck. He is at www.Schraderhausk9.com . Any other Nice DDR males out there?

by AgarPhranicniStraze1 on 12 November 2007 - 06:11
Jyl- Indeed Lux is a beautiful dog...the bitch I just bought was owned by Schraderhaus some time ago and bred to Lux having a litter of 11 pups I believe. But I am curious as to what it is that you like about Lux that would make you want to breed him to your bitch? The videos on their site really don't show anything spectacular about the dogs working ability IMO but that doesn't mean he's not a nice dog...don't know never seen him work to say for sure and video is well...not enough info to make a determination.
A dog that is handler sensitive isn't really a bad thing...it actually can be a good thing quite frankly. In your above post you leave me a little confused as you state your bitch is a little handler soft but yet in the next sentence you indicate you don't want a handler hard male...
Are you intending to breed in hopes of some nice sport prospects or are you looking for harder core dogs that are more suitable for police work or PP? That is an important factor in choosing a stud dog in itself. A hard dog as some refer to is not typically a high point scoring dog thus sport people are less interested but police like that as they could care less about a title or points. Some sport people tend to like a handler sensitive dog as it becomes easier to train and work with thus scoring higher points being more focussed. I'm by no means an expert at this but I do intend to breed my new bitch to Agar and when I selected her I did so with a specific plan and goal in mind in hopes of producing a specific type of litter. Since your bitch is not titled yet you still have plenty of time to decide what to do; a lot can change in a years time. Be patient- there's lots of nice dogs out there to choose from once you've determined what your primary goals and expectations are. Best of Luck.
