It says 6 X's WUSV on his owners website http://www.vandenheuvelk9.com/norbo.html

I didn't think that was right when I first saw that.  Norbo wasn't in the WUSV 6 x

3x SchH3 and 3x IPO3

by Hukka on 26 October 2007 - 20:10

No, Norbo was not 6 times in WUSV's!! I counted them all:-) Norbo was in:

WUSV 1998 USA, 1999 Germany and 2000 Belgia. I didn't count the FCI Championships but will if you want me to.

It appears that they are counting for both SchH and IPO competitions...I found this:

Norbo Ben Ju was on the World Team 6 times before 5 years of age. He was on the WUSV Team 3x's for SchH3 and 3x's for IPO3. He won The International Working Stud Show in Bratislava in October of 2000 where he completed his competition career.

If 6x's WUSV is incorrect for explaining this then what is the correct way to represent these accomplishments?

Regards,

Melanie

Thanks Melanie, that saves me from counting:-) The Bratislava stud show is where Norbo was sold to Czech, I was there then.

newbie                                Why the insistence on the dog with the most titles?  Titles are as much related to 1. the handlers ability 2. the handlers time, ability to travel to compete and finances 3. Handlers time in grade - yes virginia as you get known some judges have been known to just seem to add an extra 10 points to the score or forgive or have a blind eye for a bad day 4. And yes sometimes also the handler's connections  - titles are related to all of these as much  as they are to the dog.  Also frequently top trial/show dogs are "sports" and never produce themselves nor do their parents produce similar dogs tho often not for the lack of trying.

I would much prefer to look at the top competitors or the dogs that interest me even if not on the podium and look at the "brew" that produced them and look at their relatives consistency in what I desired or in the kennel's consistency in producing what I desired .

Finally re "most titled" believe it or some people don't count or keep track which makes this an impossible quest AND while you later defined this as only sport  dog your original post left it open so let me just post a couple of links for you to look at that show a dog can be more than "just a sport dog" as Andy above also shows

Here is a bitch w/ 66 TITLES ( not times shown as in Sch. Most of these titles take at least 3 qualifying scores to get). She was shown sucessfully with many placements in addition to these "titles"  Her mother had 37 titles. http://members.cox.net/gsdherd/klaatu.htm

Here's another - schutzhund, ipo, herding, obedience ( U.D.T. ) agility   PAM NURMI VON DEN MAIBUCHEN
SchH3, IPO3, UDT, AX, AXJ, HXas, VCD2    http://helengleason.tripod.com/

I've known dogs that have done schutzhund succesfully AS WELL as herding, AKC top obedience ( UDX, OTCH - not easy folks) or other dog sports. Or how about a working active SAR dog with a number of spectacular tough finds who ALSO competes in Schutzhund - saw him track for his two in almost gale force winds and rain with running streams across the tracking field and the dog put his head down and just worked. WOW it was impressive - don't remember the score but you know to me that was irrelevant. He comes from a family that has consistently produced SARs, Working police dogs, Top AKC obedience, agility and flyball dogs as well Schutzhund/FH dogs including  regional and national champions. So for me that's far more impressive than one dog that has a bunch of titles. Nuf said.

Here is a link to the SAR dog I mentioned with some info also on a new sport his owner is doing with him.

His last search find that I know about was in an arson investigation where he found the body despite the scene still being warm from the fire.

My friends dog Abel vom Quasliner Moor is:

9XHGH SchH3 KKl2a

UD EJC WV ENT-ETG-O RN, HSCs HICs HXCs, AKC Herding Trial Champion

NATCH MX MXJ NF EAC

Some of these I don't even know what they are.  :)  But she competes currently with him in herding and AKC agility.  Had competed with him in NADAC agility.

I think this is a very good example of excellent all around dog.  The dog is 8 years old right now.

Caro vom Morfelder land won first place in the prestigous BSP in 2006 and then went on to win  first place in the WUSV in 2006 just 2 weeks later.

these are two of the most important competitions in the world for working dogs and he did it at 2.5 years of age.

He is now standing in stud in Germany for a few more months before going to Asia to compete in the working dog circuit in Asia and then he will be back in the WUSV and FCI next year,.

Unfortunately, he could not compete this year in the BSP or WUSV as last minute his trainer injured his shoulder but 2008 will be a new year for his young and exciting career.

He is the best working dog and tempermant of a working dog that I have ever seen.

Jeffrey
