Am I the only person who has had to extract a tampon from a dog's rectum.

by yellowrose of Texas on 11 October 2007 - 02:10
Probably???????
Glad he puked it up It worries her ,dont you people understand this is her first gsd,,,,,get off of it.....she ask for advise and she got it and it worked.....it might take a lot more than a capful I would say about a 1/2 a cup would work fine but when you are not sure , a little more isnt gonna hurt a thing.....If it had been rat poison you got to get a reaction, immediately.....
more is better than less.....
For the life of me, I cannot understand people that want to negate and teat down everything good someone on this database tries to do...
get a life ....take a chill pill like Von der graf said last night.....you trash and bash every situation and make fun of people that have different needs than you might have........learn the word p a t i e n c e with other peoples needs they may need something u do not.......iluvmigsd is new and she is an anxious mom .........she lends a lot of humor to our board and if you can lend a hand , then lend a hand ......if not ....... take a dose of peroxide and find something worhwhile to do.....

I got a ticket the other day for doing a 'rolling stop' at a stop sign.
I just came into my study, and found it in pieces on the floor, courtesty of my 10 mo. old puppy!
How do I explain this one to the cops??

by allaboutthedawgs on 11 October 2007 - 05:10
Blitzen is that true??? What a riot! I mean, for me, cause...you know....I didn't have to do it...he he he
Yellowrose-what do you mean "you people"? Dawgma doesn't count as a person and is the only one who was unkind. I think everyone else finds it refreshing to see some one who loves their dog that much and doesn't care how it's percieved.
Egsd-you have a major case of rectal encephalitus. Maybe you and Dawgma can get together and pull each other's headsout of your asses.
Iluv-glad he's okay to wreak havoc another day !

Blitzen,
OMG...That's a new one!
iluv,
So glad to hear all is well.
And, for the idiots that think this post is dumb, please feel forward to move to the next one. iluv posts a lot of questions that I'm sure many newbies and some of the experienced alike need to know the answers, too and possibly are afraid to ask.
Myself, I get a kick out of everyone of her posts.
Keep it up Julie! I love to hear and read about Boss and his antics and you in general. You're a very refreshing addition to this board. You're not afraid to ask anything and I myself find that to be quite an asset here. Your dog will be well taken care of because of it.

Blitzen-
Never pulled one out of a rectum, but did have a VERY embarrassed client who's beagle ate hers while at her office. Had to keep dog all day at clinic and give peroxide until the dog puked. Very gross.....
iluv-ignore the idiots. they are not worth the time or effort......I read all of your posts, and they just show how much you love and care for Boss.....boy he sounds like a handful

Yeah, I really did have a dog that ate a tampon. Not sure how to be polite about it, so let's just say in was not new in the box. Luckily it came out string first so I was able to easily remove it myself. This dog also ate tinsel at Xmas time and needed assitance passing that too. Funny thing was this was the pickest eater I ever owned when it came to dog food. Go figure.

ok, everyone! Make sure you know when it is ok to enduce vomiting! Sometimes making the dog vomit is not the best thing to do!
luvmiGsd! Don't be affraid to call you vet FIRST!!! This board is a good one but your pup will fare better if you call the vet or the emergency vet first!!! It's their job to answer the phone and your questions, really they wont mind! Then get on here and let us all put our .02 in also! I love to hear that my puppies are not the only crazy dogs!
