mirasmom,
I really like your whelping box(es). I also like the page that you have what you feed them. Having pictures up there for people to see exactly what you do feed them is very nice of you.
I did you the swimming pool 2 times, and then had a whelping box made. I moved and the whelping box was missing(don't know how)but then I used the swimming pool again(2nd time), until I could get another made up. My whelping box is 4x6, and works very well.

Kelly, I have been so back & forth about what to feed my dogs, I do various mixes of raw stuff, but if I have things
going on it's a kibble kind of day, now Bil-Jac, what's going to happen with that dog food, I used to swear by Iams!
I send people home with their puppy packets of Iams, and they call back to let me know how things are going & they
say I thought you were feeding Iams?
A chicken leg a day keeps the vet away!

Hey you guys, is this what pig rails are for???!!

My two girls had pups the same day, by the same guy, what are the odds of that happenning.
Bonnie had 13 , 7 girls & 6 boys, her mom Sam had 7 boys & 1 girl.
I let Bonnies mom Sam see her pups, and Sam picked the pup up and started taking it into her pen,
Bonnie could care less, I think she was up for the free babysitting!
I'm just glad, Sam didn't want to hurt them, just had to know............................................

Awww, and you do sadly hear some bad horror stories, glad your story had a happy ending!

by Ryanhaus on 18 September 2007 - 14:09
Well, actually now that you had to mention horror...........
Yesterday well I was in the puppy room with Bonnie & Sam, (It's also the computer room)
I heard a funny puppy noise, I looked over into Bonnie's pen, and everyone was nursing,
so I was like, must have been just a funny sound from a pup. I didn't do a head count,
just because you think you can see everyone doesn't mean that's everyone, minutes later
Bonnie stood up, and she had squished a pup, a girl blk & rd, I felt like an idiot, cause I was in
the same room with her. I tried to revive the pup but she was gone. Bonnie is the calmest nicest mom,
in the world not nervous at all.
My lesson I have learned from this is, do a head count!!!
OTHER THAN THAT..............., Thank you, and things are going terriffic today!!!
The bigger the pups get, the less this is inclined to happen, grow babies grow!

Sheesh, is thata big enough pile of pups? What are the lines?

by gsdfanatic1964 on 19 September 2007 - 13:09
mirasmom,
Sorry to hear about the loss of one of the pups. Wow! What a litter. Poor Mommy. Do you have to supplement any of these pups or have to remove half at a time to ensure they're all getting fed? Just curious.
You have your hands full, don't ya?
Congratulations.
