PowerHaus it is called Diatomaceous Earth. Here is a link. I don't know who said feed it to your pets, I never heard of that. I use to sprinkle it around young tomatoe plants if I had cut worms bothering them. The way it works is, its suppose to cut into their skin when they crawl threw it. If you have horses on your property or nearby, that usually will keep the flies off the dogs. Why would a fly go to get a snack when he could have a feast at the pasture.

Might be Don, but I keep my horses sprayed down so the flies don't eat them up, which would leave the dogs wide open.
