Oops, I guess I left my sense of humor at home in one of my kennels

Sorry.

None the less, I am very proud of my "Dance Partner".

When I bought her 3 years ago all I wanted was a family pet and a dog for Therapy.

We are know getting ready for her CDX

My Kati is out of untitled but OFA parents.

And yes, she is spayed - I have no business breeding - I will leave that to the experts

She is the perfect dog for me - a novice and has taught me so much.

Advanced AKC OB titles are not easy to attain. Good luck with the CDX, Claudia.

Thank you Blitzen, that means a lot to me.

I agree Blitzen, in my personal experience a SchH1 comes a hell of a lot easier than a UD.

Thanks Kczaja, you must have put a UD on a dog?

I am glad that a couple boardmembers take Competetive Obedience serious. From reading the posts, I got the feeling Competetive obedience is not taken very serious here?

I will stick my neck out even further, we also do Agility and Rally,  Kati is also started on sheep.

I also have her half brother (he is a great grandson out of Rikkor von Badboll) I have started him in obedience - maybe I see a BH in his future (he just turned1)?

The best I've ever done is a couple of CD's on my Malamutes. I take competitive OB very seriously and suggest anyone who doesn't should give it a try  before they decided it's a snap.  Rally wasn't in existance when I was active with my dogs so I don't know much about it other than what I see at trials and classes, but it looks like it takes a special trainer and dog to attain an agility title too.  The first time I watched agility on Animal Planet I was in stitches watching those Shelties do the weave poles. How do they do that so fast? I think agility is very popular in Germany, isn't it?

Anyway, I'm all for anything that  strengthens the bond with my dog. Much to my regret,  Blitz doesn't have the right temperament for anything competitive.

Hi Blitzen,

I agree with you , I will try just about anything that will tighten the bond I have with my dogs.

By the way, my trainer (for the last 4 years) has among other titles 3 OTCH and 3 MACH on her 2 GSD's and her BC.

She also has tracking and herding titles all the way up to national level.

She is also a good friend of mine. I am a lucky women

Claudia, do you know Winifred Strickland? She's put more OB titles on her dogs than maybe any other GSD owner in the US. I always admired that woman and the pbvious  rapport she had with her dogs. In her early 80's she was still showing her GSD's in the OB ring. How amazing is that? I feel sure if agility had come along 25 years ago, he dogs would also hold those titles. I've always thought she could have trained any of her dogs to drive a car had she wanted to . Your trainer sounds like a wonderful mentor who leads by example. You are lucky indeed.

I love expression. Pair that with correctness and you got my attention for sure!
