Okay, back to the topic.
About a year ago I had my first litter and it was the moms first litter. Had a wonderful whelping box complete with pig rails. She ate 5 of the pups due to what I believe was overcleaning and stress on my part. I removed the pups, bottle fed throughout the night for 2 weeks and muzzled her during the day when I let them nurse. It was the most stressful thing that I've ever done but I have 4 of the healthiest dogs and would do it over again if I had to. I also worked full time and have a 7 year old daughter so this was extremely stressful and tiring. Yes, sometimes you do have to watch them 24/7. After 2 weeks, they went back to Mom and she was wonderful.

This is the birthing box with the puppy rails and Dressa This is Bali without the rail and you see the blocks of wood in corner to hold the rails up when you put the pvc back into box...
