In my area I would have paid $180 for the shots and my vet wouldn't charge me for the exams.  Even if he did, it wouldn't cost me an extra $470.  That is the reason we only vacation in your area!  Outrageous!

Don, don't I know it!  Trying to get out of the state myself ! Bought a little acreage in middle Tennessee and can't wait to move there but got to sell 2 houses in a bad market and it's slowing us down.  Everything costs bucks down here!  Gotta pay for the "sunshine" ya know.   :-)

Wow, That's outrageous on the vet visit!  Good lord, I just about spit my teeth out!  Maybe you can find a happy medium on the price. 

Were you on the west coast?  I ask only because my in laws are on the west coast.

For our breeders, we usually charge for one exam and then it would be 9 vaccines!  And if a strongid/nemex worming is in order, we don't even charge for that on the puppy exam for vaccines! 

So, would be about the same as Don has said.  I do believe that you were ripped off there a bit!  But, again you were doing the right thing by having them vet examined, but my god!

I'm in the keys.  You think YOUR vets are expensive???? ha! You should be down here!

And I thought that some of our prices were high on certain things.  More procedural, our meds are very reasonable.  ie:  the one thing we are fairly high on are dentals. 

Policemom - don't know if I could live any further south - trying to migrate north as it is - love open, woodsy space, higher elevations.  Born and raised in the Catskills of NY and miss them to this day.

Prices in this county have gone sky high since being hit by 3 hurricanes.  Everyone in charging more for everything.
