Kim- Animal Care Center is the place I have the appointment with on the 17th. Thank you.

gsdlvr2- My vet tried to get him bumped up but they won't do it. He has also been haveing trouble with UCD were he did his graduate studies. I figured that I would be quicker if he called Davis. He said at one time it was, but now it has actually been takeing longer if he calls and not the client.

Sueincc- Thank you for the website. I think they also have sports medicine vets on staff which would be a big help.  They would be more likely to see the urgency and importance of keeping Ari sound.

DKiah and everyone thank you again for caring.

Any rough guesstimates on the cost of MRIs these days?  My male has been showing rear end lameness, a lack of rear end strength (say when going up the stairs), a reluctance to jump up (he used to be a big jumper) and a loss of coordination/movement with tail.  My trainer is suggesting spine/back issue...  He's been retired for a few months now - but even after all of the rest, while his demeanor has much improved and he's got all of his old speed and drive back on the flat, he still does not jump up and and still "runs out of gas" when climbing the stairs he used to bound up.  I did have my vet do a neurological on him and had a second done at a teach hospital.  No one seems to be thinking DM or other neuro issue right now. I’d been advised to rest him for a number of weeks to look for improvement. While there has been some, at this point I’m ready to move forward with figuring this out. I don’t expect him to go back to sport, but I want to make him comfortable. -Calvin
