iluvmyGSD,  I personally think your pup is adorable,  and You sound like someone who will be having alot of fun with him,  I encourage you to do that, and succeed to you and your dogs fullest potentials.

we all want the "perfect" dog but that seldom if ever happens..

quote DesertRangers---We were asked to give our opinions and that is what we are doing. don't ask for input if you only want to hear how cute your dog is. this is not a board of pet people, this is a board with serious breeders, trainers and gsd enthaustics and know gsd;s and can give you valuable input on your dog but we all realize the limitations of doing so thru just a pic but we all try to be helpful. sometimes new people have a less than quality dog and in some cases have been taken advantage of by a breeder. they need to know the quality of their dog before they breed it etc..

we all have said this looks like a overall nice boy.  i agree it is very important to keep the weight under control for all dogs andfor all ages. they will lead a much longer healthier life if their weight is controlled plus the benefits of keeping excess weight off their joints.--end quote

Was this directed towards me? If it was , it kinda sounds like you think I was complaining about the critique my dog was getting, if you reread the post on here you will see no complaints by me. I totally understand that i would get honest opinions and thats what i wanted (and i apperciate everyones comments..very helpful) and i know my dog is not perfect, that was kinda the point. i need honest opions on what I am doing wrong--like him being heavy--that is somethin i can change by not feeding him everything he begs me for --not my dogs fault--but i didn't know untill i was told on here, so i consider that helpful not mean. but i also don't want anyone to post a reply like( hey your dog is butt ugly) thats not helpful just rude, well anyway thanks for the HELPFUL comments yall. desertrangers--if you did not mean for this to be directed to me in the way i took it then please disregard this message..you did make a valid point to those who get offended from hearing a true honest opionion..

iluvmygsd....This was not directed at you at all as I do not know you. This was directed to any newbie who does not understand the type people on this board and not to take any cristism personal as it is not meant that way.  Sometimes I cringe at actually offering my opinion all based on a pic as they can be so deceiving good or bad..

DesertRangers--your right, the pictures aren't the best way to go about doing this, my camera sucks and i don't really think it does my pup justice. In these pics, his coloring looks like a brownish orange, when actually its a deeper reddish color, but you can only see that in a picture if he is standing in direct sunlight (i think i have one in the photobucket pics but he is running so the pic is kinda blurry) and also , he does look a little bloated in this pic, we live in louisiana and even though i took this pic at 9:00 in the morning, after ten mins, we were already sweating out there, he drinks and drinks an drinks tons of water when he is outside any amount of time, so....he probably was bloated a little with water, any other time his tummy has a 'sunk-in'  look to me...i worried he was to skinny!..lol Oh also everyone...his eyes are darkining up..yipeee..i didn't even know that was a factor....that raises another point though..

For people like me (im a stay at home mom who lives in a very rural area, the only dog traing/shows/ANYTHING they have around here is for hunting dogs, atleast 3 hunting clubs on the road i live on..lol,) I have absolutly no contact with anyone who know anything about GSD's so this site is great for me, i am learning alot even though it's only through pictures its defintinly better than nothing...so bring on the critiques---i can only learn from them, and bring on the great comments--(makes my day!)
