Shelly you gotta still be young! You hit a certain point and need a jack hammer to get off this cemented fat! I am still not that bad but it takes alot more miles on a tead or real life walking/cross country skiing etc. to loose weight for me...

I think Sch is pretty good exercise. I know that after a training session I am often worn out. We have a pretty good degree of intensity at the club that I attend. It is not extreme exercize, but it darn sure isnt sitting around on the couch.
If anyone doing Sch wants more activity, just tell your club you would like to learn to be a helper. I have been learning at my club and that is an extremely intense workout during training. It is particulary grueling while you are learning how to do it. The old pro's make it look easy, but try running your ass off, listening to your training director barking instructions, watching where your feet are when the dog hits you, making sure your arm is angled right, swinging the stick, oh and loking out for those shiny white teeth coming at you...In a padded suit...In the deep south...In july. Good exercise.

schutzhund does not make your dog athletic. A good athletic dog has an advantage over a dog of lesser ability but htat does for almost any dog sport.....
