PS:  I am finding you need to soak it longer than the suggested 5-10 minutes;  more like l/2 hour.  ??frown

Are you using pretty warm water?

We feed Keen mixed with Taste of the Wild to Benny ( 2year old GSD) and Jake 16 month Borzoi and they are doing great.

Yes pretty warm water;  but boiling though that would defeat the purpose of raw.??  It's OK though, I am making the AM batch the day before;  soaking them refrigeration;  add meat in AM and serve.  Work so far.  Nan

I've been doing about 20 minutes, and I've found if you add a little more warm water than recommended, the veggies and other little bits hydrate better.

I've fed all of the grain-free varieties.

My dog is a hard keeper and I couldn't exclusively feed her on THK for an extended period of time, or she'd drop weight, but I do like it in a pinch, or for travel.
I mix it with Ziwi Peak, and she does really well on that mix.

I keep several additional boxes of THK on hand for emergencies.  A month's worth of THK fits in a much smaller space than a month's worth of kibble does, if we were in a Hurricane Katrina type situation.

If I had a dog that was easier to keep weight on, I would consider feeding it as a larger part of a diet.

FWIW, this was the first food that my male put weight on while eating.  He had been at the high volume=soft stool threshold when I switched to Thrive and during the first 10 weeks he put on 8 pounds.  Of muscle.

Different dogs do best on different foods.
I would definitely recommend that anyone interested in THK give it a try and see how their dog does.  You definitely aren't the first person to have a dog gain weight on THK that was a hard keeper- that's originally why I started experimenting with it so extensively.

This is the cheapest place I have found to buy Addiction or Honest Kitchen. They are in PA, so I guess this only works on the east coast.

I have ordered before from Doggiefood.com, but I was very unhappy with their policies. They charge upfront, but do not necessarily ship for weeks, or even months in one instance.  They send emails claiming to have shipped, and I'd wait weeks and still no food.  Their shipping is not reliable, I gave up on them in frustration.  Ordering from NaturalPetWarehouse, I get the food in two days, never a problem.
