Willow--I've been reading these threads for almost a year and a half, and if you now think for one minute you have a clue to who or what goes on here-----think again. Not being an internet participant prior to logging on the database, I certainly had no clue.....and, I bet I can match your powers of observation.....any day. (Notice, I didn't say surpass. LOL) We've all been taken for a ride once or twice..........not the end of the world, really. I even remember (some time back) when 'trio' was angry with Brittany (over what..???...probably personal). But, I do recollect 'trio' responding to Brit's remark with something akin to "You have no idea what goes on here". Well...I had no idea, either.....but, the line woke me up.
Everyone...just relax. Let people express their opinions, and please allow others to reply. Personally, I won't judge a person or screen name based merely on 1 or 2 posts-----Maybe.....around 100 posts, I'll start forming an opinion on the poster.
'seriously' and 'funk man' don't bother me in the least. I may or may not agree with them, but I prefer directness and usually know where both of them are coming from. (As to Brit and funk--that seems to be personal, and as long as there's no pack-like mentality taking advantage....IMO...it's their business).
Not using profanity and good taste doesn't automatically and correctly define one as an 'innocent'. Give me a break, already! If some people choose to piss certain people off, and they have the temerity to respond.....then all I can say is....tough...'thems the breaks'. This holier-than-thou, hypocritical attitude with the 'rah rah rah, sis boom bah' followers is nauseating.
Oli's database is popular because ALL types of people and characters participate. Initially, I started reading the threads to gain info on GSD immune issues. I never meant to post...being an extremely private person. The 'Indiana' thread was just too much (on an emotional level), and, alas, I logged on. Since then my good opinions of people have escalated and downhilled many times over. IMO, you need All the people for most of us to stay enchanted with the database. Waaay too boring, otherwise. If you want more policing, why not go to 'Leerburg'. I checked it out months ago when the database was down. It has a great following....but lost my interest when Ed closed a thread.
Just read the posts. If you don't like them, respond and offer another opinion or take a deep breath and move on. Look...I got scathed recently, and said my peace. (Even had it called a bitching session (I think), which hit me the wrong way, because I'm a very proper, well-brought-up lady...who might find that offensive....seeing how I was merely defending myself.)
EVERYONE says stupid things........................................................................................Relax.

Hoo Rah LMH I feel the same! I'm against having it moderated like Frawly's site. My opinions of posters also change as time goes by. I laugh mercilessly at things said by people I don't agree with and shake my head at the ones I thought where great. We wont and can't all agree on everything. As adults it's up to us to realise that and not put others down for not "having" our back. When I post I never "expect" anyone to back my theory or facts. I'm a big girl and you can agree with me or not. Course I'm gonna think your smart if you agree, rather than disagree. =D
This site wouldn't be the same without the freedome to express. Not saying there aren't a few who I'd love to see go. Outright attacks on another person for their thoughts is just stupid. Calling people pigs and personally attacking their person or family is worthless to the board.

God bless America, and delicious German celery.
I hope my dear friend, Janis Novak is still getting a chuckle out of this site even though she is with the good Lord now.
We miss you Janis! :)

There is absolutely nothing wrong with expressing your opinions, God knows I do it on a regular basis. I just would like to get through ONE thread without all the insults, it is so stupid!! Believe me I do not have a holier than now attitude!! I just try my best to be respectful of others for the most part. I have viewed Ed Frawely's forum also, but I feel that I would never hear the end of my Showline Shepherds!! LOL I guess I will just start posting exactly what I think!! :o} Boy, that ought to be fun for everyone!! ;)

Okay, I'll dive in over and above supporting LMH's post. Which as I mentioned is a great post.
Seriously and others have taken as many hits as given. And has made some legitimate though not popluar to say the least points. There are some others on here that given and taken also. A person on top right now has been ridden hard for not following breeding standards. She has stuck it out and is giving advice many are listening to now. If all were removed it could make for a boring place. Do the "old timers" remember when there was strict control for a while? Talk about a rebellion! All the complaints were nobody could discuss anything with out it being pulled for contraversy and we want back the old days. So you can't have it both ways folks. What I do is not read the people that bother me, too often anyway. :) LOL Read those you know have good information or you enjoy. But I've also found by not reading some I don't really like I do at times miss pretty good information if I leave the personalities out of the words.
Just a few months ago another was getting slammed for comments made about our President and what should be done to him. She's still here and many stick up for her.
So if everytime it was somebodies turn to be the "bad guy" they were removed, it would be pretty tame, boring, and a lot of information lost.
I'm done with this one....... for now. ;-) LOL
