TL 217,

Not sure where you are located in TX but about 10 years ago I had the wonderful opportunity to train at Live Oak Kennel, in Blum, TX...just south of Ft Worth.  The folks there were extremely knowledgeable and were very heavy in NAPD (protection dog) training....think Schutzhund with more variables in the protection phase...anyway...don't know what they are doing now but if you are close I would take a look.  If memory serves me correctly the GSD that was in the movie K9 with Jim Belushi came from their kennel.

Thanks YellowRose,

I haven't heard back from Claudia yet. I imagine she's pretty busy. It sounds like there are quite a few Sch clubs out there. Hopefully I find one who will let me join LOL

I spoke to my breeder today, and he is going to help me pick my new guy, for the temperment match. I had to pick a "G" name so I decided to name him "GALAN" (Spanish for gallant, or leading man.) I am way too excited!!!  I went out today and bought him a package of tennis balls :-)

He was barely born on May 5th and won't be able to fly home until at the very soonest June 30th, and that's if we don't have any heat restrictions. I still am not sure how that will work. My breeder said it's a non stop flight, but I am not sure if that will make a difference. Anyone else have a pup shipped in the summer?

Thanks for any comments Kindly, Stacy

I shipped my daughter a female puppy from that sold out litter, Orumhaus. My daughter claims that puppy "rocks her world".

Thanks so much TexasLady217  I just read your post after mine.  I am having a blast with Chaos no matter what we do together.  And thanks for your comments about him.  I do love the LC's and after Chaos will probably have nothing but a LC!  And here come the slamsssss, LOL.  Oh well, that's my opinion and I see nothing wrong with them.   They are beautiful GSD's!   Good luck with your new pup.  Just remember to socialize him/her ALOT!

Yes, I have shipped in the summer. make sure you bring water and a bowl. If the pup is coming in from out of the country, it helps to use a customs agent and set it up in advance. It does cost more, but I like getting them outta there asap. It is up to the pilot if the pup gets aboard the plane, even thou you have a ticket. I have also used Pedilite to give them, same as you would for a baby.

1doggie2,

Thanks for the advice. The pedialyte sounds like an excellent idea!!! I know I'll  want to get him out ASAP, it's a nonstop flight according to my breeder. I'm sure he (Galan) will also have to relieve himself ( he may also soil the crate.) Thanks Again

Shepherd Woman,

I see a lot of arguing on here about absolutely everything, but that's how ALL message boards are, especially dog message boards. I guess when people are passionate about something they can be very outspoken. I have my own opinions too, but if I have something ugly to say I *usually* keep it to myself. Sometimes I will give a good blast, but I try to be kind, respectful and helpful when I can be. I'm SO looking forward to posting pictures of my new puppy, and I'm sure there will be at least a few who think he looks nasty LOL

I haven't even seen my adult female from the show lines yet. (Supposed to get  pics tomorrow-YEAH!) Man I hope "I" don't think she's ugly LOL But hey I'll still love her ;-)
