Hi Jess, same as all the crossbreeds do now... you can still register to compete.

Jess: there is a need to delete the gobbledegook which appears when you are writing your post: I am sure it will be fixed soon.

Lissa; Of course people can own both types, just like they can own different breeds, and of course other breeds suffer similar and even worse health problems than the GSD.

Hi Folks!

We have the same thing in America!! Go to the post GSDCA National in Beaumont. Sound familiar? The AKC is the only Registration we have in order to register a dog. (They are crooks!)  The GSDCA does not like anything about  the GERMAN DOG.....But American Shepherds only, and they  are a big clique of OLD FARTS, living in their dream world of the dogs of the past,  trying to CREATE that one dog who will save the American Shepherd,  and HANDLERS who took over and became BREEDERS!
I hope that you can accomplish and split from the ALSATIAN, you have the option to do so, here....WE ARE STUCK!!!

These are 2 separate breeds! One that WORKS, and one that runs and shakes in it's boots if a leaf falls off a tree!

All the best to you!

Looking at my English type dogs pedigree just now and 5 generations back on both sides there are German dogs, so were German dogs introduced into English bloodlines to correct the English type faults back then. Is it possible to breed the correct type of Shepherd with the English/German mix and thus avoid the over exaggerations of each type, I m just curious, over to you breeders! Lissa

Although all the above comments are interesting and obviously true  -  lets try to keep to the job in hand

ARE WE GOING TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT FORMING A PLAN TO GET A BUSINESSLIKE PRESENTATION TO THE KENNEL CLUB

- WITHOUT ANIMOSITY -

IN A UNITED WAY TO FORM TWO SEPERATE BREEDS.....

who is going to call a meeting....., who is going to appoint the chosen person one from each side in the beginning to formulate the correct wya of going about the approach,........

WE CAN IF WE MOVE ON -

and then those two spokesmen/women... chosen by democratic vote ...will form for themselves a small group that can work together without killing each other for the betterment of both breeds.....

C O M E   O N     -   L E T S     D O    I T     Mo

Lissa has an interest in both types of dog... so she would have two differing types to be showing in two differing places if she wished - as David says, like folk with two totally different breeds - and as I assume they would both stay in the Pastoral group (for now) then she would be able to take both out on the same day to a show...exhibit them both, and not have that griping feeling that she was in the wrong ring for one or the other... how nice.

This is why I strongly advocate a SPLIT between ALSATIONS and the German Shepherd Dog. Let us get these morons off our backs, let them have their English Alsations, and NEVER EVER let them (Alsations) cross breed with our German Shepherd Dogs. They can keep their LEVEL and DIPPY backs, their crap temperaments, their short front legs, their predominence of weak characters, their overbuilt forechests and all their health problems. THE GSD NEEDS TO BE COMPLETELY SEPARATED FROM ALSATIONS, IN THE SAME MANNER WE ARE SEPARATED FROM BELGIUM SHEPHERDS.

I don't want my dog to be called an Alsation; they are mean and scary. When you go and take on the KC could you please re-name him an English Shepherd ty

lol @ Penny you go Girl................I put forward the English German Shepherd Dog, be re named as the English Shepherd

Mo, The only problem with you're theory is the term, "Chosen by Democratic vote" You have more chance of seeing you're God than getting that sorted! Just pick some names and make it happen.     Georgehopwood, There's Mo trying to get 2 different sides to sit down in a meeting together, and you come up with a post like that!!  Timeing George!!! Timeing. Diplomacy doesn't seem to be you're strong point. Bill Owen.

Penny, Ha! cant ever imagine it, been going to both types of shows for last couple of years just spectating and both sides being bad enough about their fellow competitors in the ring let alone different types of Shepherds lol! Just a shame that the breeds become split like this, interestingly enough when I walk both my dogs together Joe Public always calls them Alsations and pick up their small dogs and kids so bring on the English Shepherd! I love all Shepherds but  in the future if I ever get another one I ll get another German one, theres just something about them !

by georgehopwood on 27 January 2009 - 18:01

lol @ patrick; Diplomacy Has never been my strong point
