Carlin, I really do not feel the need for anything  to "stand on".
Thanks to Moons locating it, we have Carl Sagan's 'Humility'
video which says it so much better than I ever could ...

What was said in Sagan's humility video (excellent btw), is something echoed by myself in an older thread. In fact, you yourself took exception to the idea, that we "didn't have it all figured out". A bit of a contradiction on your part I'd say. Otherwise, it may have been convenient, save for the fact that nothing Sagan offered contradicted anything I've ever said here. Btw - without anything to "stand on", what you offer is strictly an opinion, rather than a defensible, substantiated, argument. In truth, the more you say, the less your opinion appears to be the stuff of productive exchange, and the more it reflects the rather closed-minded, ignorant, and contemptuousness you spout off against. That's just fine by me, and you're certainly entitled, so long as we're all on the same page.

And I read vk4's interesting post about the HR diagram. Fascinating stuff! I just don't think it disproves anything, especially so when I get to the word, "whim". See, it never was meant to be a "whim" is my feeling. I am sure there is a purpose. I recognize the article's point is that others are just as sure there is no purpose.

Sigh, and now we are back on the hampster wheel!

Youl will be surprised to find out that I live a normal life like everyone here.
Dogs to look after Kennels to clean grass to cut,lots of  work.
Probably the only difference between you and I are, our beliefs.
