I can't believe this thread is still going! I can update my profile now; I am now Mrs. Carlton Harris! We were married on October 26th at 1:00pm in Delaware Water Gap, Pa, with family & friends in attendence. Unfortunately our dogs were not at the ceremony, but got to celebrate with us afterwards. Still in a sling...jackie Harris

Thanks! Carl & I have been together for 10 years already....our GSDs are our kids...all our 2 footers are grown & gone with kids of their own, in fact Carl has a couple of great grandchildren! LOL I love my kids, but the dogs are less stressful, they don't drive your car, or pick the wrong friends, etc.- just tear your shoulder loose! Sometimes (lotsof times), I think the dogs are more sensible.....jh

Hello all,
I have been reading this database for months and just now signed up - oh boy!
I am a 47 year old male, Christian, self-employed for 25 years, born & raised in Florida and I really am hooked on German Shepherds. Enjoy reading all about them and am looking to purchase one next spring. I have not logged in before because I had not finalized my decision to buy one, but now being much more informed by the experts here, I have decided to buy a working line and am looking at everyone's website and weighing the pro's & con's.
I am sure I will get much needed advice when that time comes closer and am looking forward to the discertations that will follow. I have decided to remain anonymous until I buy my puppy GSD as I don't want to be flooded with "buy me" emails just yet.
This thread is the best one I have seen to date as it gives me a little more info to go on when surfing websites and breeders - one thing that is a requirement for me is that the breeder be a brother in Christ as it is my belief that I will be "yoked together" with the breeder in the purchase of my new pup and hopefully start a long and beneficial relationship. I do not plan to breed, haven't decided on a male or female yet and have not been convinced of the necessity of titles but do see the value in hip xrays. I do want my gsd to become my best buddy, who will travel the U.S. with me and should have good nerves for traveling on Airlines and large boats.
Looking forward to many more interesting threads and much more knowledge.
