The family can believe anything they want, but when you start making claims that your dog was stolen
and then murdered to the media and on internet lists. IMO that is irresponsible and dangerous.
You might get away with poisoning a dog and running him over to a lay person, but a vetrinarian doing a
necropsy can tell the difference betwen hit by a truck and beaten or poisoned and run over. As far as how long Hex was in the ditch before being found. Look at the news report. The ditch is deep and weedy. It would have been very easy to over look a dog body. Assuming there was actually anyone looking across the street when supposedly the last tiime Hex was seen he was in a white van. Why was there a black spot (indicatiing decomposition) where Hex was found. Why did Jeff G move the body (tampering with a crime scene)
before the police got there? Hopefully all the reports are released soon and this episode is put behind us.
Too bad that instead of being remebered as a 2x National FH tracking Champion. Hex will likely be remembered for this nonsense (no matter how it turns out)

I don't know what happened to hex but it is a good chance that hex could have been stolen and murdered. When I was a teenager my dogs took off on me to go critter hunting in the woods behind us, one of them was a mutt & the other one was a doberman. I went chasing after them but lost them and walked around the block a couple of times and couldn't find them. the mutt showed up later on that night but the dobe did not. It finally showed up late in the morning and my dad saw that somebody caught our extremely friendly dog and tortured him. They took a chain and wrapped it around his front leg and clipped it as short as possible to his collar. They then took pieces of metal round metal rods and stuck them in between the webbing of his feet. either he escaped or they let him go afterwards. Luckily he didn't have any permant damage. Nothing surprised me now days on what somebody will do to any living thing. My heart goes out to anyone who has lost their child.
It also has been a problem in my area for several years of people stealing dogs. somebody posted their mastiff missing on craigslist and somebody was honest enough to say that they bought it off from craigslist and returned it to them. I just hope they were able to prosecute the individuals who stole it.

Perhaps to you Hex will be remembered for all of this crap, but to those that matter he will be remembered as a 2 time National FH Tracking Champion.

I never even knew of Hex's existence before this but I will remember him as a dog that was well loved......
Guess we will have to agree to disagree Thomas. I don't think it was irresponsible to state what he believed and that Hex was stolen. Now if he would of pointed fingers at anyone and said basically burn their village! Take no prisoners! That would of been different..
I don't know why the body was moved, I would imagine it was an act done in the emotional trauma of the moment, and came from the heart.
Did anyone actually say they saw Hex in a white van? I remember that Al said he saw a white or light van slow down and maybe stop and then Hex was gone.
Not only is the death of Hex very sad, it seems to of brought to light an animosity between people involved in the sport or dogs that is disheartening.

Boy, things like this bring out the worst in dog people. I don't know the dog or the owners, but I feel for their loss and hope this dog's accomplishments will always be given their rightful place in breed history.

At least it,s brought out the conspiracy theories from the Grass roots list... Quick call it a x file and get ahold of Mulder and Scully!!!.
A dog is dead and good people feel the loss if you did,nt give money to the cause quit worring about it. If you did give money to the cause your a better person then most.
Time heals all wounds.

That just about sums it up. I agree.

Bob,
There is no conspiracy theory and the Grass Roots list has nothing to do wiith this list.
There are legimate questions based on OFFICIAL police reports, media interviews and the COD according to the necropsy. Your attempt to trivialize others opinion is disrespectful. A dog is dead and the owners (and others) feel the lose. That does NOT IMO excuse the rush to judgement and the claims of foul play with no evidence.
