Very cool.  Best wishes for success.

I do hope you have a top company doing a complete video.  Those of us unable to attend would appreciate being able to see it after.

No connection to show versus working dogs debate whatsoever, trot. The practice of schutzhund, as joined to related titling and trials, has been used as a valuable tool for breeding evaluation purposes, and as a means to keep the breed up to scratch as founder envisaged, for longer than I can recall. But, then, as well distanced from anything characterized as a ‘sport’ pursued for its own sake, or with owner/trainer’s vaunted abilities taking celebrated prime place; and now, as for this event, for financial reward and entrepreneurial profit-making. Apart from the many pups sold as family pets, offspring may end up in myriad specialties from rescue and guard-work to border security and drug enforcement, the military, police and private security industry. Your mob happens to be into sport and the fact that employed routines happen to expediently ape those laid down for GSD breeders doesn’t alter it one iota. Particularly for events as these, one could equally well refigure them into something more enticing or exciting, or add completely new emphases (extra man and protection work?); or use Mals, hybrids, or some other breed for that matter. Seen thus as merely another specialty group why impose your shrill views and demands on the established core of GSD community? Why not stick to your own clubs and forums and simply do your own thing? I don’t see many rescue workers, police or custom officers here, all falling over themselves to rabidly impose their opinions! “Work some puppies …”? – You must be referring to your black doggie? (As a newbie, gentle with those e-collars you’re seemingly so keen on.)

To all who PM'd -

Thanks for the awesome notes!  I look forward to meeting a bunch of you as we get more involved and specially as we attend this great event...

So can anyone enlighten us newbies as to who Carlos Rojas is, and what he has done in the past?  Seriously!  Curious!  It's a cool idea, and some of us new blood want to know more about the organizer, however new or old to dogs he may be.  No Carlos Bio on the thread yet... inquiring minds want to know.

As the time gets closer, I'm sure we'll be organizing a small caravan to attend this show and root for our favorite participant.  If we fly ourselves we'll have a couple of seats to spare, and if we drive it will be a fun group from Boston, no doubt.

It would be a great idea if the event was recorded for TV, and even if not, YouTube has some great collections of Videos that will help promote it nonetheless.  The more video the better....search YouTube for highlights on things like last year's Mondio or FR helper trials, last year's Netherlands KNPV highlights, and you get the idea.

An *awesome* new feature would be to ignore / blank out posts from individual posters so as not to bother with them.  If anyone has a spare e-collar that fits the previous poster's neck size, you may want to send it along to properly stimulate them to get the right behavior given his/her interest.

A Question for Mr. Rojas but first a shout out with a great job!!!! This is a great thing you are doing. It is unbelievable. When will the rest of the competitors be announced? And I heard you are in charge of another sanctioned  event. Congratulations!
