EVERYONE GIVE YOURSELF A HUGE PAT ON THE BACK !!!!!

I think we should now analyze "Who's Missing"?  Who on this board has decided to remain anonymous?

Hey Y'all!

I am 28 y/o female, married to my childhood love with 2 toddlers (yes, that's TWO)  and one almost potty-training proof  pain-in-the-butt of a Dachsie pup who chews thru everything like a termite.

My story begins back in Washington state, where I was born and lived the first 5 memorable years of my life.  then my folks packed up us five kids, of which I was lucky #1, and moved us to Arizona, which was total culture shock in the worst way.  Going from one of the most humid rainy states to the most arid.  What a wake-up call!  I think I developed my fear of anything with more than 4 legs during that time.......  After a bout of year of that non-sense they came to their senses and moved us up to Chicago, where we lived the next 8 years.  I remember being 13 and the kids around me were so worried about showing off their birth-control pills,  or getting high.  I was a total tom-boy who was interested only in my art and being around animals.  I didn't understand my peers, nor them me.  Now looking back I am like "What the hell is wrong with America?"

Anyway, 16 years ago my parents moved us all down to live outside St Louis, MO, which if you've never been here is actually the nicest most friendly place that I have ever been, and I love the place to death.  My mom had just graduated from medical school and had a nice spot for her residency down here, so I guess it was meant to be that we all end up down here like we did.  I ended up meeting my husband at age 16 (my parents Hated him the next decade straight) and in between dating him I ended up doing Missionary Work at a L'Arche Home down in Mobile AL, living in a Benedictine Monastery outside Pittsburgh PA for a good while (loved it) as well as went into the Navy at 21 years of age.

In the Navy my rating was DCmen, but I never Admitted that and if you know anything of the Navy and rates, well, you might understand why.  In the long run I ended up knowing as much if not more of the gas turbine engines onboard ship as I did my job teaching people shipboard firefighting.  I loved it.  I was working on cross-rating to GSM as well as going into EOD (like the bomb squad) when I was hurt very bad in a very horrible way, and ended up being retired medically, which was just as well.  The whole experience gave me an absolute intolerance for BS, headgames, and outright lies.......  If you have looked into any of the threads I've started, you'll see I have no problem calling it like it is and bringing Crap that needs to be known out into the open.  Because of my disability (PTSD) I have been taken advantage of by a few people in the GSD world, being my mind has needed a lot of time to heal and deal with the trauma enough to get my head to where it is now and is still going.   I sadly had to battle with a guy named Tim Helser to get my 4 dogs back, only to lose 3 to him;  had to sell a dog because the fight for his papers was a losing battle, and the others had to be humanly let go to the rainbow bridge.  I am still pissed about this!  Believe me you!  If you want to know more just ask me!

Anyways, I am an artist, and enjoy my artwork as well as doing websites and quilts.  I love photography, and have a knack for Photoshopping pics I take or get my hands on.  My hubby is in school thanks to the VA for a degree in counseling.  He is my Huge teddy-bear, my rock, and I love him even when I hate him.......  Which is everyday, Lol!  He is great, he puts up with me.  And he is the main reason I was able to get my dogs back.  I owe him the world!  And sometimes he even does laundry and the dishes, besides cooks!  I call him my "woman" and laugh because we each compliment the other so well......  We both love to hunt and fish, and we are than

This IS fascinating!

Sounds like Great Britain is a better place to be 60 yrs. old than the US is. I will NEVER be able to retire!  How ell I remember TV licenses, no antennas, and our big TV witht eh buttons on the front. We only got 3 stations: BBC1, BBC2, and ITV. Still, the programming was excelent so I never missed having a lot of choices. Of course that was in the early 70's. My first place in London was a shared flat with a slot machine for the gas. No schillings, no hot bath, no hot breakfast. I don't ever remember being warm there because the electric radiators couldn't keep up and the coal fireplaces ahd been sealed off. Out first 2 bedroom detached house with its garden seemed like heaven, though still cold most of the time, even though it was right in Heathrow Airports flight path across the street from runway 28L. Take offs were deafening despite triple glazed windows, but we didn't mind.

Thanks for the memories. Someday I'll take another trip over and relive it all, older, wiser, and better educated so I can appreciate the history.

LOL Shelly - you just brought back some memories for me as I lived in England, Suffolk County, NE coast for over a year.  The programming on TV was good unless there was a Snooker event going on - then all 4 channels (we got BBC1, BBC2, BBC3 & West Angliea) were Snooker for days on end!  They were just getting ready to add a radio tax which would include your car radio and it was funny seeing those vans run around with antenna's looking for "unpaid" signals.

And just so we can put gas prices into perspective, in the mid 80's I was paying a bit over $3 US dollars per gallon to fill my car there, they had awesome social health program but very high taxes and very high unemployment at the time.  I also remember half of my american furniture wouldn't fit thru the front door and had to be thrown away.

But all in all, I absolutely loved my time there, would go back in a heartbeat and really loved the old history of the country.  Lived near a thousand year old ruin of an Abbey, graveyard behind my house that would put Halloween to shame in this country - didn't need a holiday for a good spook - just a nighttime walk.

And funniest of all was my first Pizza - it looked like a bowl of soup....had to work hard with the guy to get an American version of pizza out of him.

My real name is Therese. I am 44 ( almost 45) and single. I am working on my 3rd divorce, my first marriage lasted 9 years, my second 12 years and the last one lasted 6 years. I have 5 children, My oldest is 27 and works for me. I have a daughter 26, a Son 23, a Daughter 21. My youngest is 15 and  turns 16 Nov 8th. He plans on joining the job corp on november 12th. I have 5 grand children and 2 step grandchildren. I own a grooming business that I started in Feb and also drive a school bus. I am a certified ACO and am also the Vice President of the local SPCA.

I was born in SF Calif, spent 7 years in fostercare then was returned to my family. Family moved to S.A ,Texas when I was 13, I left home at 14 lived with family or friends. I am very independant. I went to Florida in '84, Stayed in Florida for 4 years then moved back to Texas, to a sleepy little town called Livingston, pop 5400. It is growing waaaay to fast! I have been here 19 years now. Livingston is located 65 miles N of Houston and that is still to close for me lol I have been down there maybe a total of a dozens times since I have lived here.

I have been involved with animals all of my life and have done animal rescue for at least 20 years.

I have been around GSD's off and on most of my life altho they were always pets and no training other than what we taught them. I have 2 GSD's and am planning to keep a pup from this litter for future competition. The 2 I have now are awesome! The male is a handful at times but minds me very well and we are working on some issues.

I plan on traveling at some point in my life before I get to old to enjoy it. I would also like to compete with my GSD just to prove to myself that I can do it.

I love to fish and camp, being outdoors is what makes me happiest. I dont hunt anymore ( had a bad experience) but I still enjoy going into the woods.

Thats pretty much it in a nutshell. I pretty much keep to myself and am not very outspoken unless I see someone abusing/neglecting an animal. I prefer dogs over people any day.

Wow, I've been kinda quiet on this post!

Aside from my age/marriage stats.

I live in "lovely" NJ with my darling husband and 3 GSD's and a cat.  I have lived in NJ my entire life in two different places.   I work as a vet tech and enjoy training my dogs (of course!) and NASCAR.  And will park it on the couch to watch the NY Giants with my hubby too.   Yellowrose, we'll be seeing you and yours in a couple of weeks.  :)  meaning the Cowboys!

Hello all....I don't post much, though sometimes my dogs are a topic on this forum.  :)  and I'm a little behind in getting in on this thread.

I live in the beautiful state of Oregon, I am engaged  :)  after being single for a very long time.  I am 42, have two beautiful daughters one who is 23 and married and my 17 year old who has high functioning autism...and a soon to be stepson who is 5.  I have 2 EM german shepherds who I love to death!  I belong to a wonderful Schutzhund club and everyone there has been very helpful.  My 18 month old female has issues...which some of you know, so I pulled her out of protection work though my 7 1/2 month old female is doing fine with the protection aspect, our helper is great and I appreciate all the work he does.  I have both my dogs also in an AKC class and the youngest is also in another puppy class. Since work, family...just basically life gets in the way sometimes, I don't always spend as much time training my girls as I would like to, so they pay for my being not only not consistent but a newbie trainer at that!  :)  I do my best and enjoy the times I get to work with them.   What a great positive topic...thanks SW!
