GSDtravels

by GSDtravels on 18 February 2014 - 23:02

This morning was the worst commute I've had this long, snowy winter.  I guess my Borough is out of salt, but they didn't even bother to plow.  I slid down both hill before I got to the winding road that crosses the railroad trackes 5 times (and yes, there are many school buses that stop at each and every one, grr!).  Then I got to be the caboose on a 10 mph train (one idiot leading the pack) all the way through three Boroughs.

Anyway, here's my crack, LOL.

Full view of the window, look above and below (behind the ficus tree.

Here are the scary close-ups, LOL

Above the window, it's actually buckled and ready to fall.  Below, well...

ML, so sorry to hear your wife is that sick, I hope she's getting what she needs now and is on the mend!  Yikes!

This ended up being a spring-like day, after the nightmare commute.  It got warm and sunny and the street was bone dry by the time I got home.  I tried to chip away at the ice that had my garage door frozen shut more than once, not much luck.  My front yard is pile so high, I doubt it will melt by June!

Update,

The wife is staying at her daughters because her daughter is home all day long and can look after her. This morning at around 7AM I get a call from her daughter saying Linda is in such pain she can't even sit up. She asked me if I can take her to the Hospital. I said if she can't sit up how is she going to ride in a car? Call 911 and get an Ambulance. So I arrived as the Ambulance was pulling out of the driveway and followed them to the Hospital.

At the Hospital I pulled out of my wife that a few days ago she got up to go to the bathroom and fell on her back. She had been complaining of back pain but we thought it was because she has been lying in bed all week.

Anyway to make a long story short, they check he from one end to the other, complete back, hip etc, X-rays, gave her intravenous and nothing is visibly wrong. They believe she tore some muscles from the fall. So they released her, but she is very weak and can barely walk.

Her daughter called a little while ago and said she has a huge bruise on her back.

I'm relieved that she has been check from head to toe and nothing was found. Hopefully she can relax and heal.

It's been the day from hell.

Well ladies, thanks for showing us pictures of your cracks. LOL

On my first date with my wife we went out to eat, then we went to another place with a live band for a few drinks and to dance.

We were having a great time and dancing a lot. We were dancing a fast dance and I noticed that her dress just under her armpit was slightly coming apart. So I told her that she had a small hole in her dress where a few stitches came apart. A few minutes later we got up for a slow dance and she was embarrased a little about the hole in the dress and she asked if I could put my hand over the hole while we danced, which I did.

When we got back to our table I said, I never thought you would ask me to put my hand on your hole on the first date. Five minutes later we were still laughing our asses off.

Travels, lol... ! Thanks for sharing your crack! I think you got my crack beat! Glad you have a plan for fixing yours, though. Window seats are a wonderful idea. However, it is my experience that if you have children or lazier other persons living with you, the visions of curling up in comfort, watching the world go by, or reading a good book in one of them, never happens. They get piled high with assorted other junk, backbacks, laundry, weird bits of tools, you name it. Only when company is coming do they usually manage to be empty and "inviting". LOL

ML, Thanks for the update! I love your first date story, too! Does this mean her pneumonia is better, the antibiotics have worked? That I think is the best news! ... I posted something to give you a laugh on "THE" ... Wink Smile .

I would imagine a window seat would be a perfect place of repose for a Baby Rhino, Bee!

Go ahead Carlin, we'll be saying "80s today" in mid-July, when you're forced indoors from the oppressive humidity :)  I like the seasons, though I do have to admit, I also love Florida!
