Over 1000 Green Berets signed a letter supporting and will defend the second amendment as originally intended !!!
YAY America !!!! I knew it, I knew it all along - so glad I never gave up hope. Sooooo glad.

"We are current or former Army Reserve, National Guard, and active duty US Army Special Forces soldiers (Green Berets). We have all taken an oath to “…support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same.…” The Constitution of the United States is without a doubt the single greatest document in the history of mankind, codifying the fundamental principle of governmental power and authority being derived from and granted through the consent of the governed. Our Constitution established a system of governance that preserves, protects, and holds sacrosanct the individual rights and primacy of the governed as well as providing for the explicit protection of the governed from governmental tyranny and/or oppression. We have witnessed the insidious and iniquitous effects of tyranny and oppression on people all over the world. We and our forebears have embodied and personified our organizational motto, De Oppresso Liber [To Free the Oppressed], for more than a half century as we have fought, shed blood, and died in the pursuit of freedom for the oppressed."

The real stats are - about 88% of the American public supports more gun control, specifically background checks for every weapon sold by every dealer and a ban on high capacity magazines. That is supported by around 80% of NRA members too. What exactly is your problem with trying to not sell weapons and high capacity magazines without background checks?

Define - "regulations and directives that violate the Constutution and/or the Bill of Rights" It sounds like much ado about nothing if one can't define specifically what it means to violate the Constitution and By-Laws.
What about the rights of those little kids in Newtown to be able to attended school without being murdered? The rights of a teenager to go to a park without being killed? Why do you think only gun owners have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness?

High capacity magazines?? so they have to carry in a couple more clips in a situational shooting that is very rare. a small percentage of shootings involve these types of weapons. Congrats on "doing something".
My question is for all of you, when an "assault weapons" ban, and magazine capacity limitation, and background checks don't make any percievable dent in crimes, what is your next proposal?
i'm sorry about the kids that had their right to go to school and not be murdered violated. I'm sorry a teenager had their right to go to a park and not be shot taken by some lunatic with a gun. Are you really so blind that you can't see that having an unarmed populace also comes at a hefty price tag? It's been evident throughout history, losses much bigger than 20 kids in a school or a teenager in a park. It's not gun owners that are commiting these crimes, they're called criminals, pass all the laws you want, you won't stop them by passing laws.

Everybody is in favor of background checks, we already have them in place.
The problem is they want to control what is beyond their jurisdiction.
All you people can come up with is rifles and magazines and that's really pathetic.
You can't ban something that flows freely in and out of our country daily
And to use those children to emotionally blackmail the country is disgusting.
Mark Kelly and Gabby Giffords reminded me of Sara Brady and Jim in that wheel chair.
Do dead children stop us from causing and carrying out wars?
That doesn't bother you a bit does it?
What about all the children who died at the hands of Janet Reno that day in Texas?
Your emotions seem very selective.
