Gigante

by Gigante on 15 May 2012 - 15:05

This didn't happen overnight and it sure won't be rectified overnight!

Thats the truth.

At one time, while on the ground, close quarter battle,(CQB) the subject grabbed for my weapon, I honestly believed that he was attempting to gain leverage by turning me over or by rolling over me. At that time I could've shot him and be very well justified. And no one would've questioned my decision. But for me, I, I honestly didn't feel as if my LIFE was threatened. Yes, I was fighting to win, to make sure I didn't lose, to make sure I won so if any of the shit heads on the corner were going to try something I was ready for tat also. BUT, I did not fear for my life! I put the subject in the hospital and came away from the ordeal with some bumps, cuts and bleeding.

Now thats the videos I prefer to watch. A Tactition teaching someone a lesson in  "you shouldnt ought done that".

At that time I could've shot him and be very well justified. And no one would've questioned my decision.

Its this great latitude that makes it so important that those that dont have it, be cleaned out. Talking about honor.

I am censoring you because you are off topic and I issued a warning after cleaning up a bunch of non-sense on this thread, matter of fact the next off topic post will get that poster banned. I am done  with this as I have appointments to get to.

Remember the US marine who threw the puppy over the cliff for "sport" while on video?  Was the public outcry viewed as a bashing against our servicemen?  NO!!  The difference is, that marine paid dearly for his actions, and was not looked at with a tolerant eye!  The marine corp and the public saw that he was held accountable.  You have to NOT define a person by what it is their job is, but by how they conduct themselves.  The men and women of law enforcement in my community are all cared for and respected by the public.  I certainly don't judge all marines by the actions of one, BUT THE POINT IS, HE WAS HELD ACCOUNTABLE, and in an event that was far less serious than some of the stories shared in this thread.

P.S. Truth is, I probably won't believe a word you say, about this, because anyone can come on here and say, I pledge $500 to a cause that doesn't exist, but if other's join on here to back up their desire to make real out of a virtual donation, then that would count in the tally.

Well, beetree I'm guessing you have no idea how such initiatives and organizations are started. The "$500 offer" is simply a gesture of support, not an actual donation.  There's a whole process to starting a non-profit and funding sources comes from grants, large private donors etc.  The KCET type fundraising of "give 5 bucks today..." doesn't come along in the begining of such an effort.  Please do not comment anymore on how such a defense fund will be started.  We don't need anyone, belittling  or mocking a process which they have no understanding of.  You're just muddying the waters planting seeds of confusion.  Such an organization can be started and has been done so many times in the past.  For all we know the ACLU or similar police abuse type organizations may already be investigating these types of cases.  Its not like me or anybody else is going to report back to this thread to prove you wrong.

 , I'm guess

I would think you would be wrong.

I would think you would be wrong.

Then why bother saying the following:

What's the morning tally? I heard you beating the "let's gather the masses" drums; how many opened their wallets? (Oh, your contribution paid for little more than one hour of Lawyer time.)

The support of a few people reading this thread certainly helps, but won't be nessassary to get the ball rolling elsewhere.  So, as I said, please do not comment anymore on how such a defense fund will be started.

So...this should be the end of your thoughts on the possible success or failure of such an effort.

Excuse me? Momosgarage, This particuilar drum beat was begun by Gigante. And since this is sometimes still a public forum, and you don't have Admin attached to your name, kindly refrain from making comments about something, it is clear you KNOW nothing about.

You want to tell me how many non-profit pilot programs you have been instrumental in funding and getting off the ground? I would like to know if you have done it more than me?

Feel free to give a short overview of your professional  opinion within this thread.  No point in letting your experience go to waste.  Also, no point in calling each other names any longer or mocking each other posts.  Advice from folks with real hands on fund raising  experience is always appreciated.  If you are serious PM me with your CV and maybe we can find a way to bring you on initially as a paid consultant.

I SAID IT WOULD BE A HARD SELL.

I don't need a CV to know what I know. I don't get paid money doing what I do.
