GSDmom, he could ask why you are. We all see things in a different light.

I don't know a lot, but I do know Al Govednik and his wife have been very kind and generous to many people and clubs with their time and advice and that they loved Hex.

I know that many volunteers with tracking dogs searching the very area where Hex was later recovered did not find him there.

I know that when I talked to Al Govednik he was afraid for his other dogs and other strange things have occurred for which he has called LE and that he nor his wife have EVER asked anyone for any money and have refused offers like the one Jenn made hoping to ease their pain.

I know that his leather collar that Hex was wearing was missing when he was found.

I know that no identification of any truck or truck driver has ever been made, just an anonymous call or calls.

I'm not leaning any way, but how do you know anything? Did you see a collar on the dog before he wad hit? I heard there was black decomposed grass under him when sar dogs fo und him. And who is the driver anonymous to, the public?

by hexe on 26 November 2011 - 07:11

Hmm. I've yet to read anything that insinuated anyone in particular had any involvement in what happened to this dog, save for acknowledgement that there had been some conflict between Al Govednik and another party or parties.  Frankly, that could be said of just about everyone--we've all had conflicts with someone at one time or another.  But how many of those people would be evil enough to do something like this to one of your dogs?  I'd certainly never expect anyone I'd had beef with to think I'd be capable of something like this, and I've never given anyone reason to think such, either.  To anyone who feels like they were being accused, I have to ask just how incendiary this conflict was that you could feel you could be viewed as doing something so awful?  I'm still waiting for the completed necropsy report, including the toxicology reports, and the private investigator's reports before I arrive at any conclusions...but regardless of what happened, nobody put a cybergun to my head and forced me to donate anything to anybody--I did so of my own free will.  If nothing else, perhaps something will be learned as a result of the tests and examinations of the body which can benefit someone else's dog someday--perhaps it will at least create some documentation of data regarding post-mortem examinations, decomposition under specific climate and environmental conditions and the like.

However...

Dobermanmann wrote: "A 85 lb dog hit by a 10 ton Semi traveling at 70? MPH will fly a LONG way."

I'm no physics whiz, but yeah, the body would definitely be airborne--but if the dog were hit by a truck that size, at that speed, the body's not going to be intact...I see what happens to whitetail deer that are similar in weight (as well as those heaver, and those lighter) when the semis hit them around here; pieces of the animal's body are strewn about over a fairly concentrated area.  So I can't really buy in on the 'hit by a fast-moving semi truck' premise, and that's one of the issues I expect may be addressed in the final reports, including that of the investigator.

I'm not a regular poster here and don't like responding to User names when I don't know the people behind the name. I don't thiink anyone has said anything about Al being evil and not having many friends or that the loss of a dog under any circumstances isn't tragic. My only concern is this event. Everything I see on the Facebook
pages and on many of the lists and in the media is STOLEN and MURDERED from the day Hex went missing.
I had a problem with assuming this was a deliberate act from the beginning. Now when we're getting official police and necropsy reports some are still offering conjecture and what ifs. The police report mentions a report
from the PI that is not included to protect Al's privacy? How much money are people willing to pay a PI to
"investigate"? Are there any FACTS to support the idea that Hex was stolen and murdered?
Some of you can carry on for another 20 pages, but sooner or later the truth will come out.

I have been following this since the very beginning on FB, Grassroots and this site, it seems to me that when one avenue does not work, others are tried. Example - disbeleif that the dog was stolen, then it was money being asked for when it was not, then someone posted the "police report" with attachments and it was overlooked that the reports were incomplete, nothing mentioned about the attached email from a club member, said club member asking if anyone had a large freezer (what an odd statement) to hold a dog, making allagations that they were going to be "set up". Makes ya kinda go hummmmm.

Lets see.... How many of you have had a dog stolen, lost and or met an untimely demise? What if any resorces did you use? To what extent did you go? When did you stop looking? Did you turn down help from others, no matter where or how it came? Why is it that people are pre-judging when all of the facts are not in? Why all of the spectulaction? Again, why not just wait? What are you going to do when the "facts" are in and you find out that Hex had been stolen and murdered? Are you going to man / woman up and say you are sorry for being a malcontent, gossip monger, and the lot? Being a false friend? Painting someone in a false, bad and unkind light all the while making false and unfounded accusations, compairing them to scammers and thives? Why is that, what are you trying to hide if anything?    Just asking....

I understand that the family can not make any comments, defend themselves or make any statements at this time, that is under the direction of their attorney and the PI. They have been told to wait like everyone else and see what the final reports have to say. I am sure that when the time comes for a statement to be made it will be, good, bad or indifferent. The truth will be spoken and we then and only then we will have the full story and it will be without speculation and bs, and best of all it can be backed up with proof. Then maybe the BS and gossip will stop and some of you will go back under your rock where you belong.

by Dobermannman on 27 November 2011 - 03:11

I bet either nothing will EVER come from the "investigation" or the final
report will say "Hex died the day he went missing, hit by a truck in front of
his unfenced yard and laid in the ditch for almost two weeks, before the body
was discovered" no moved body, no conspiracy, no stolen dog, no murdered dog.

If you think Hex was stolen and murdered, then put your money where your mouth is !

"Lets see.... How many of you have had a dog stolen, lost and or met an untimely demise? What if any resorces did you use? To what extent did you go? When did you stop looking? Did you turn down help from others, no matter where or how it came? "

Ascommanis Jago went missing three and a half years ago. I'm still looking for him. I spent my own money on ads and mailing and flyers etc. I didn't ask for anyone elses money and I did NOT accuse anyone of stealing and MURDERING him with ZERO proof, only half assed theories and speculation!

Does anyone on this list sign their posts or does everyone hide behind "handles" ?

What make you think that "nothing" will come of this?

Do you feel the need to lash out & have repressed feelings due to your own loss?

I have placed my "mouth" where the money is and will continue to do so, thank you.

Perhaps no one wanted to help you, being that you are such a loving individual and have expressed much kindness to others.

Just the facts, no family member ASKED for money - it was offered to them, period.

What makes you think there is no proof? Hummm

With love & kindness and peace be with you,

Sincerely,

Victoria C. Retts
