gouda

by gouda on 08 October 2013 - 11:10

I cant be anymore then I am now,and dont want to be.
I need to stay the way I am now,so I can personally feel and go through the trials and tribulation that the non believers here are going through. Im no better than anyone here, nor do I desire to be.

shtal - I understand where you are coming from, and what you are getting at.  My issue with gouda's link is what it implies about the way in which he perceives the issue and how he chooses to engage.  The issue involves the diminishing influence of Christianity over the state.  As far as the education you mention, in the US, children's education was intended to be the responsibility of the parents, not of the state.  In addition, it really wouldn't have mattered much early on because any state sponsored solution would have mirrored the predominate Christian world view anyway.  Since then, public education has become the norm, and reflects today's predominate world view.  What is so shocking about that?  Read your Bible, that's what it says.  Immediately, I am most concerned with maintaining the freedom to choose to my children's education, rather than to allow the state to determine their world view.

The atheist "conspiracy".  You really have to understand that the forces driving progressive thought are more organic than systematic.  The dynamism responsible for the backlash against Christianity isn't the machination of some over-arching evil organization(s), but a culmination of movement within individual societal spheres, whether politics, education, business, etc.  What some Christians who suffer from extreme myopia struggle to apprehend, exactly what the driving forces are behind secular humanism.  To continue to thrust Christian doctrine down the throats of atheists is as unbiblical as it is unproductive.  Christian dominionism is a horrible ideology.  The gospel was never intended to be a political statement, or call to political action, which is exactly what the end game is when we engage in matters of faith on the material level.  Again, what we are not talking about is sharing our faith with those who have never heard, known, or experienced -that's a different matter entirely.  The citizens of the world have a right to choose what they wish.  I may not agree with those choices, but I want my choice to be respected, so I will stand to protect their right to choose.  I may even speak my mind from time to time to those who have chosen a different path, if I feel as though I can help.  To stand on soapbox and waving my finger at everyone else is just self-indulgent, and not at all what Jesus was all about.  By now, I could have easily taken apart some this false religion, false doctrine, and unbiblical theology piece by stinking, ugly, abhorrent, ignorant piece, in light of scripture.  This is not the place for that.

"Atheist worldwide agenda " ?

Two Moons

by Two Moons on 08 October 2013 - 12:10

shtal,
you keep saying the same things like if you say them enough they will come true some how.

Hovind is a fraud yet you talk about him as if he were a deciple.

Evolution is about god interfering with mans sexual moreys?

And this one goes right over the top, Moons doesn't like god telling him what to do....lol

OH GOD PLEASE TELL ME WHAT TO DO !!

What you mean is I do not subscribe to a book written by men, as far as I know god has never spoken to anyone.
Except what is claimed in that book, none of which in the first person.

Did you ever figure out what a god is, the meaning of a god, what are the qualifications a thing might need to be a god?

Be a man, be all you can be, lets debate what is a god.

You too gouda, what's a god?

Carlin

Hund - at least attempt to be a little less contemptuous and intolerant than the ideology you so vehemently oppose.  I suppose that's the irony of some atheists' positions isn't it?  Aren't the aforementioned supposed to be hallmarks of modernism, rationalism, and progressive thought?  Not everyone fits in a neat, convenient little box; not all Christians or conservatives are ignorant, close minded, and uneducated.  Definitely not a convenient argument, is it?  That's the place where generic, all too often parroted devices break down, and the true substance and value of real thought is exposed.

Carlin

gouda - grow up, spiritually, and otherwise.

Two Moons

by Two Moons on 08 October 2013 - 12:10

Carlin,
the contempt comes from the imposition of the ideology being forced of society, a heated debate over rights.
Very evident in abortion rights debates.
