What the heck was that rambling bit? Oh well....
Seems they found his wallet in the ruins. I wouldn't believe any thing BE4U posts, she hasn't a very good track record for being right.
This gives a much better picture of the guy, I think:

Sheriff says fire not purposely burned.

by hexe on 14 February 2013 - 06:02
Yeah, right, Sheriff.
I grew up in South Jersey, and I remember what the city of Philadelphia did when they got tired of dealing with the MOVE folks. It worked so well there that our Federal government adopted the tactic themselves, so why should it be any surprise if the San Bernadino Sheriff's Dept., in cooperation with the LAPD, took a page out of that book as well?
This entire situation has been very troublesome from the jump...As the saying goes, in a game of losers, there are no winners.
But, hey--they saved themselves from possibly paying out that million dollar reward money!
Edited to add: I think it is beyond tragic that innocent people have lost their lives in this fiasco, and I can't help but wonder if his multiple tours of duty in our country's current decade-long quagmire played some role in breaking down his mental stability to such a drastic and violent degree. I can imagine it could be extremely destructive, psychologically, if someone spent months in peril on the pretense of 'fighting for our freedoms', then returns to the Land of the Free to find himself jacked up by the very law enforcement agency that employs him [whether it was an accurate perception or not] in a manner that would assuredly destroy any chances for him to have a career in that field. None of this justifies Dorner's actions, mind, not at all. I just can't help but wonder if the deplorably inadequate mental health care the military 'offers' its members--along with the stigma the military makes sure accompanies seeking such 'care'--is responsible for this whole thing. With Dorner dead, however, we'll never really know now.

"With Dorner dead, we'll never really know." Bingo !! What do you want to bet, now that the fire was effective, 'reopening of the firing of Dorner' will be no different from the original finding.
by beetree on 14 February 2013 - 13:02
Frankly, I don't care that they don't make a reward payout. The reward seems to be that the rampage is over. Dorner predicted his death, and he got it. I can't really cry a tear for the guy, he left two more young children to grow up without their father, and his widow surely is devastated on this day,
of all days. No trial is a money saver, too.
I suppose if he wanted to show the world what a great guy he was, he could have turned himself in, and made somebody rich. Heck, he could have called a long, lost relative and maybe cooked up a good double deal or something! They could have used the money to start a Disgruntled Employee Review Hotline. There are always choices to make one way or another, aren't there?
Now, I do concede that the study of PTSD could use more studies, maybe our society will learn something that will benefit our soldiers and first responders. I actually do know that studies are being done to determine how the different sexes handle PTSD. How those differences will need to be addressed differently, is the thought.

I don't think turning himself in was an option by either side. I mean when you start firing first on hispanic women and skinny white guys and asking questions later, I think their intentions on dealing with Dorner were pretty clear. Kill first, sort it out later. I don't think he had any intention of turning himself in either, but even if he did, I doubt it could have happened.
I like that they're claiming on the news that the fire was accidental. I'd really love to know the source of the recording being passed around on the net. If it turns out to be legit, I think everyone should be pissed. I don't care that he's dead, I think he deserved it for what he's done. Doesn't mean I excuse the "other side" for what they've done either.
