Breeders, show us what you have produced. - Page 20

People who follow all the "rules" can still produce crap. Very uniform and very consistant crap. This is very helpful because then I know more who to stay away from and what lines to stay away from. If I were looking then I would not be the least bit deterred from looking at Jeff's pups just from the reasons stated.

 

IMO titles today give false indication that it is going to be quality breeding. That is a very small part. Health tests and titles and so forth make people feel better but truly knowledgeable persons understand there is so much more to consider some of which is much more important. A few breeders are ahead of the game and dont play by all the rules. These same breeders produce far superior dogs. JMO??? No...... FACT!

Okay, looks like most everyone got their licks in, so lets all move back into our respective corners,  please.  Up until the last couple of pages,  this has been a really good thread and I would hate to see it continue to degenerate and make me have to start deleting and editing posts - I hate do that, it affects the flow.  There are obviously some strong personalities with different opinions, which is really a good thing, but I would appreciate it if you guys would remember to exercise some restraint and leave the personal crap and snide comments at the door.

Kelly, could you do me a favor and tell me what club those trials were and what year that was. I'm just curious because I look at most of the scores in the magazines and I usually pay attention to breeds. I wouldn't mind looking at those scores.

Now here's the kicker.

If there is a dog that can succesfully complete all 3 phases, that is tracking/obedience/protection, all in one day... then I don't give a shit if it's a damn toy poodle, it is a good dog.

And before yall call me out on how many dogs have you trained and titled, blah blah...I will go ahead and say NONE! I have just learned a little from other knowledgeable folks!

So you haven't titled your dog.  So you showed a video of a golden training for SchH I.  So instead of bringing down the sport, maybe the more correct response would be, "wow that golden is better than my dog at the sport"

Ok, Molly, I was trying to be nice, but you're taking this way out of context.  I never said anything particular about your dogs. Please reread and find SOMEWHERE where I said anything about any of your dogs. I have never seen one of your dogs. I have never seen any of Jeff's dogs. My point was that as much as you dislike Jeff, all you're doing by ragging on him constantly is making yourself look pathetically insecure about your own program and dogs. I don't know what's hard to grasp about that. 

I don't have time to debate with you though, so if you'll excuse me, I have a puppy mill to run. 

I worked with a trainer/decoy in Ft. Worth who had a ScH 3 Chesepeake Bay Retriver.  Dog had also won many medals in personal protection club work.  No I cannot remember the trainer or the dog's name but I sure loved to watch that dog work........

Other than a momentary interruption, this is a good thread for sure. I have seen a lot of nice dogs working that I would not get to see due to silly shits trying to tell the world that only they can produce dogs. So far we have lots of good stuff and there are dogs that seem to be producing very nice pups, AND I got to see a dog named Gorilla, which actually is a first for me.

 

Esko and Ki Ki and Buko and Soda PoP and Tito and Basco, and I, we all thank those that went ahead and put the video out there. I hope we keep going and maybe we will see some little dog larvae grow from just a goof video where they cannot really do much more than squirm, to where they are working on a rag and so on.

 

If you think that our resident "I am better than you" is having a fit now, if I really find what I like in the bitches I keep, I will breed one back to Esko. OH THE HORROR ! ! ! !

 

In the mean time, I have to YET AGAIN, become barely proficient in Czech pedigrees. There are some dogs out there from these breeders that have really really nice character. Now I just got to try and figure out which ones and what combinations. 

The pups are doing well, I will try and get a video of them working with someone else, or maybe just one of them hopping all over everything, after all, they are not well bred like some peoples dogs, and how embarrassing was that video where they( the well bred )  were too fat to get up the big incline. Mine have been jumping like deer since 6 weeks onto and into everything.  I have one dud for sure, I am going to name that dog Eagle.

Found this on the internet. 6 1/2 week old puppies....definitely not too fat to get up any inclines. Taken after playing outside for quite a while. This is  the alertness and activity level I prefer to see, even in pups that young. They're not doing anything special and no one is acknowledging them; this is just them being themselves, which is how I like to judge puppies. Videos of rags and flirt poles only tell me a tiny bit about what I need to know. I would much rather observe them interacting with each other and things in their environment.
