His use of the word 'deposit' might be misunderstood. Today's exchange rate is $2k US - $2.29k Euro, presuming you're US based.
I agree with Mike; send another request for clarification.

I don't think that's it either, $2000 = €1746 or even the other way it's €2000 = $2291 which is more like 2.3 but it sounds like the agreed price is $2000 anyway. Any feedback from the original poster?
